lol.

You should read Heideggar's Being and Time for that, "why is there something rather than nothing at all":p

Actually that is a really good question. Most Muslims writters I have read are very clear that Allah does not need us. He depends on nothing.

I actually think I may have read something about this.

Perhaps you should look at "The Heart of Islam" by Sayyed Hossein Nasr

Allahu Ta'ala wants something good for us that's why he wants us to do something for His pleasure, because no pleasure could be accepted but if Allahu Subhanahu wa Ta'ala create it and give it to us. He doesn't need us, we need Him, Allahu Ta'ala is Al Ghaniyyu, which translated as "Free of all wants," Allahu Ta'ala said that :

QS.31(Luqman):12 Wa laqad a_taina_ luma_nal hikmata aniskur lil la_h wa may yaskur fain nama_ yaskur linafsih wa man kafara fa in nal la_ha ganiy yun hamid

12 We bestowed (in the past) wisdom on Luqman: "Show (thy) gratitude to Allah." Any who is (so) grateful does so to the profit of his own soul: but if any is ungrateful verily Allah is FREE OF ALL WANTS worthy of all praise. 3593 3594

QS.31(Luqman):26 Lil la_hi ma_ fis sama_wa_ti wal ard in nal la_ha huwal ganiy yul hamid

26 To Allah belong all things in heaven and earth: verily Allah is He (that is) FREE OF ALL WANTS worthy of all praise. 3615

15 Ya_ ay yuhan na_su antumul fuqara_u ilal la_h wal la_hu huwal ganiy yul hamid

QS.35(Al Furqan):15 O ye men! it is ye that have need of Allah: but Allah is the One FREE OF ALL WANTS Worthy of all praise. 3898

Philosopher are people who couldn't reach the ESSENTIAL of Allahu Ta'ala in His Names, Characteristics, Identity and action. This is what the Philosopher are:

They believed that Allaah had no attributes that could be affirmed for Him; as they falsely claimed that affirming Attributes of Perfection for Him, leads to at-Tashbeeh.
- They only affirmed attributes relating to denial (the Salabeeyah), or those that are relative (the Idaafeeyah) or those that were both.

19.3.1 THE SALABEEYAH ATTRIBUTES
- i.e. they deny things that are not befitting for Allaah.
- e.g. They say that Allaah is One (Waahid) - meaning that any share of Him in terms of quantity, speech or partners, is to be denied. [Hence they've affirmed nothing and instead have just denied things].

19.3.2 THE IDAAFEEYAH ATTRIBUTES
- i.e. describing attributes in a relative sense.
- eg. They say they He is "The Originator (Mubaddi) and the Cause ('Illah)" meaning all things originate from Him, and not that He has affirmed Attributes of Beginning and Causing. [Again they affirm nothing and instead only deny things].

19.3.3 THE ATTRIBUTES THAT ARE SALABEEYAH AND IDAAFEEYAH :
- e.g. When they say that Allaah is "The First"
- Hence it's from the Salabeeyah in that any limits are denied from Him.
- And it's from the Idaafeeyah in that all other things come after Him.

20.1 THEIR FALSE WAY
- The criteria with them is the intellect. What it considers necessary to affirm, then it is to be affirmed. And what it considers necessary to deny, then it's to be denied.
- They then differ as to what the intellect does consider necessary to deny or affirm.
- So most of them deny them, explaining them figuratively.
- Some stop and resign knowledge of them to Allaah, but at the same time they deny that the relevant texts do indicate any attribute.
- And they claim that this way reconciles the texts and the intellect. But this is false as both the texts and the intellect agree in affirming attributes of Perfection for Allaah, but the intellect can not understand the details.

20.2 THEIR WAY RESEMBLES THOSE MENTIONED IN (4):60-62.
- They claim to be believers in the Revelation, but they don't accept all he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) brought.
- They, when called to the Book and Sunnah, in terms of affirming Attributes of Perfection for Allaah, they turn away in aversion.
- They have their own Taaghoot-s which they blindly follow and prefer over what the Messenger brought. And they go to these for rulings instead of to the Book and the Sunnah.
- They claim to only desire good and reconciliation of the texts and the intellect.

20.3 THE FALSE IMPLICATIONS WHICH FOLLOW ON FROM THEIR WAY.
- Their way implies that the Book and Sunnah clearly state disbelief and call to it as they are filled with texts that affirm Allaah's Attributes - while they say that to affirm these is at- Tashbeeh and Kufr.
- It implies that the Book and Sunnah do not make the truth clear, as nothing in it indicates denial of His Attributes of Perfection. While they think that denying them is the truth. They may use (19):65 and (112):4 to prove their way - but anyone with intelligence knows these show that nothing resembles Him in His Attributes and does not show that denial is obligatory.
- It implies that the Salaf spoke falsehood, or concealed the truth or were ignorant as there are mutawaatir reports from them affirming His Attributes of Perfection. And there's not a single report from them making denial obligatory.
- It implies that, if His Attributes of Perfection are denied, then attributes of deficiency must be affirmed. Hence these deniers go to something worse than what they were fleeing from.

20.4 THE DOUBTS AND FALSE IDEAS THESE DENIERS DEPEND ON.
- False claims, for instance that there's a consensus of what they say.
- False analogies leading to say that affirmation implies Tashbeeh.
- They dwell on words which have meanings that may or may not be correct for Allaah. Hence they end up completely denying them instead of determining which meanings are correct e.g. with respect to al Jism, al Hayyiz, al Jihah, etc.
Note: With respect to al Hayyiz - a restricted realm; then we halt at the words and look to the meaning. If what is meant is that the creation confines Him, then this is prohibited. If what is meant is that He is distinct and separate from the creation, then this is correct.
- Then they embellish these false arguments with fine words and fancy terms, to try to fool the ignorant.

20.5 ARGUMENTS THAT REFUTE THESE FALSE IDEAS.
- Their ideas are contradictory as what they affirm necessarily forces them to also affirm what they flee from and deny.
- Each group of them will contradict each other - one will say the mind makes obligatory that which another will say the mind makes prohibited! Even a single one of them will contradict himself in different places. This contradictory nature is one of the strongest proofs of their falsehood.
- Their denial necessarily leads to falsehood (see 20.3).
- The relevant texts offer no scope for ta'weel and if there was some scope, there's no proof to prefer the figurative meaning over the most apparent one.
- Interpreting the Attributes away is like how the Qaraamitah and Baatineeyah interpret away Salah, Sawm and other worships.
- The clear, uncorrupted mind does not try to turn or change the texts which affirm the Attributes. It does affirm Attributes of Perfection for Allaah, but cannot comprehend the details.
- The prominent ones of the deniers did recognise that the intellect can not reach the details of Tawheed, so we must accept the texts without distorting them.

Us worshipping Him is for our own benefit, why were we created? Some things are unquestionable which only Allah has the knowledge and reasons to

(pick one)...
Just like there are many things that are out of our level of understanding this is just one of them! We do not know how big the universe is! We don't even know whats in the deepest depths of our oceans or in the core of the earth let alone knowing anything about our creator or the reasons for the creator doing certain things! This is something our lord willed and wanted.

We can clearly see from our experiences in this life that Allah does what he wills! You will see siamese twins that are joined together. You will see some people born deformed and with all kinds of diseases and different forms etc.You will see some people who are mentally retarded and some who are dwarfs and giants! Just the other day on the news this baby was born who came out of her mothers stomach 2 days after her mother died! Allah can do what he wants! He decided to create us with free will and he created us to worship him and whatever he decides is best because as humans we only have very limited capabilitys and we cannot think beyond what is beyond this earth!

He created us and provides for us which we should be so grateful for yet there are many people in this world that deny his existance and Allah has promised a harsh punishment for them because as humans he has created us with free will! He has given us clear signs! You will see whilst reading the Qur'an and about Islam that what a perfect way of life he has given us and every aspect of Islam has perfect wisdom behind it!

Allah just wants the best for us and he has said in the Qur'an that there is No compulsion in religion in that we can choose what path we wish to take in this world we can deny the truth and live by our desires but just remember we will return to him and when we do we will face the consequances of our actions! He has created us and given us EVERYTHING on a plate and is just requiring us to abide by his commandments for the duration of our short life and just for that he will reward us with an ETERNITY in paradise! Now you show me an offer in this universe better than that?

All humans are uncertain as to exactly how long we are going to live for because knowledge of life and death is only with the lord almighty! So it is incumbent on us to be swift in accepting the truth and be swift in changing for the better before death takes us because once death takes us then it is too late and we would face punishment that is unimaginable! Many people actually deny life after death and say that after death there is nothing and we will just rot away into nothingness. What is the pojnt of life then? Why are we here then? They can NEVER give proper answers to these questions! Allah knew there will be people like this and has sadi in the Qur'an:

Surah 2, verses 6 - 7:

*{As to those who reject faith, it is the same to them whether you warn them or not ; they will not believe. God has set a seal on their hearts and on their ears, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they [incur].}*

Also, Surah 45, verse 23 reads:
*{Then see the one who took as his god his own vain desire? God has, [knowing him as such], left him astray as he did not follow the guidance of his own knowledge, and God sealed his ears and his heart [and understanding], and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after God [has withdrawn guidance]? Will you not then receive admonition?}*

These people will deny the existance of Allah and in the afterlife! If that is the case then say to them "what is the point of being good? Because the bad person and the good person will die the same if according to you there is no afterlife! Then why be good?" Why not just be bad because according to these people there is no afterlife and no judgement! So there is no reason to be good! They say "oh you just be good because it is the right thing to do!". "But why is it the right thing when there is nothing that is going to judge you about your life after your death because according to you there is no afterlife! if i murder you and your family and get away with it then there is no justice according to you because if there is no afterlife then there is no reason stopping me and others from doing what they want as long as they can get away with it!If i die having killed you and your family then i have got away with murder and evil according to you! All of the terrible injustices that have EVER been commited will escape justice accoring to you!"
They have nothing to say about these questions! There is NO doubt that there is an afetrlife and No doubt that this world is just temporary and just a test for us all!

Surah 10, verse 44 – 45:
*{Verily God will not deal unjustly with man in aught; it is man that wrongs his own soul. One day He will gather them together; [it will be] as if they had tarried but an hour of a day; they will recognize each other; assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with God and refused to receive true guidance.}*

The first punishment is in the grave and secondly will be after judgement has taken place onthe day of judgement when all of humanity from the first man till the last will rise on one plain and will be gathered together awaiting individual judgement where Allah will say to a disbeliever that "Did know one tell you about Islam?". They will of course try and deny it but Allah is the knower of all things and will show this person everything they did in their life and this persons own body parts will speak against them! This is the day when NO one can deny what they did on earth! It is a truly terrifying day for the disbelievers and believers who were sinners on the earth, but for the believers who done good on the earth the day of judgement will be a breeze and the believers will be praised and rewarded with paradise and eternal bliss!

"And fear the fire, which is prepared for the disbelievers" (3:131)

"Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced
him, and never will the Dhaalimoon [polytheists and wrongdoers] find any
helpers" (3:192)

"Know they not that whoever opposes and shows hostility to Allaah and His
Messenger, certainly for him will be the fire of Hell to abide therein? That
is extreme disgrace". (9:63)

"The losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the Day
of Resurrection. Verily, that will be a manifest loss!" (39:15)
