bamboozled

Hi,
I am getting my mother an mp3 and want to put the quran on it for her and I want to have a quranic quote on the back engraved.
I am looking for something that will help motivate her to memorise it, something she has always wanted to do.
it can only be 46characters long including spaces and room for me to reference where about the quote is from. One I found is the following:
"The ink of the scholar and the blood of a martyr are of equal value in heaven"
But am concernced the word "martyr" might cause trouble or something.
Please help
Thank you.

46 characters is quite less - I think even the quote you had in mind wouldn't fit. I also remember someone posting a thread asking whether that quote was fabricated, so it would be best to ensure it's authentic before using it Insha'Allaah.
Here are some verses in English - it's difficult to get a concise translation:
This is the Book whereof there is no doubt 2:2
And recite the Qur’an in a slow style (73:4)
Allah has sent down the best statement, a Book 39:23
May Allaah (swt) make it easy for your mother to memorise the Qur'an. Keep encouraging and helping her, and never give up making du'a!

AssalamuAlaykum
Is it wise to engrave a Qur'aanic aayah onto an mp3 player?
What if you drop it or if finds itself on the floor. Or doesnt that matter?
Alaa Bi'dhikrillahi tatma innul quloob is a nice one though :peace:
