Hello everybody from NC usa.
(I just moved down here from MI usa)

My name is Ian and I'm not a Muslim. I'm not a Christian either.
I'm a little bit of some things and not much of others. I'm mostly atheist.

I also only speak english...for now.

This is NOT a spam account or post. Just looking to make some friends or acquaintances of the Muslim kind...a few Kind Muslims would be a bonus.

I do have a motive for posting here though. I go to another chat room/forum that is full of some narrow minded "hardcore" Christians. I would LOVE someday to have some Muslim folks join us in this other forums.

Not sure if this type of post is allowed here but I will wait before posting a link to the other sight and giving anybody and everybody a proper invite.

Now for the reason I am here...I alluded to it before in my first post.
I frequently go to a small town Newspaper chat room/forums (much like this place is laid out). It's located in Holland MI.

We have lots of fun and sometimes heated discussions and like many other online forums sometimes people just bash each other over the heads with words...so to speak.

Like I said before I'm mostly atheist...I believe in nothing...sort of.
No God No Allah Not much I cant see...But I do believe in some things I cant see or explain...but anyways.

The reason I came and joined this forum is to invite some of you...ANY of you to come join us at that other forum. The place is called Holland Sentinel Forums and the biggest and best reason I want...I NEED somebody...ANYBODY that is Muslim to come join us.

I have to warn you that MANY of the people in this forum are "Christians" Christian with the quotes " " because SO MANY of them are NOT anything like Jesus. They seem so closed minded, so greedy, so nearly hateful...so unloving and unforgiving. As you might guess many of them are VERY vocal about their dislike of Islam. I think many of them don't know the first thing about Islam (much like I do I imagine...I have much to learn about "true" Islam...I would like to learn).

Please please please would some of you come join this forum and be a part of our "community"? Many other people there have expressed an interest if some Muslim folks would come join us.

I must WARN YOU...some of these folks are and can be COMPLETE JERKS (me sometimes too) and if you say proudly that you are Muslim who knows what may happen (in words I mean).

Also....many people at this forum are GOOD and decent people. Many folks would welcome and would LOVE to hear...REALLY hear what you have to say. Especially me.

Moderators....this is NOT a spam post. I'm NOT fishing for more "customers" at this other forum. I get paid NOTHING. I truly want to have some people join us. Muslim people...good people...bad people...english speakers or not english speakers. Just would love to have people join us.

I suggest...and this is just my little insignificant suggestion btw, but I suggest you stick around here for several weeks, learn a little more about Islam and then maybe go back to your people on the other forum and invite them here. From there they can educate themselves about Islam also. Simple no?

I'm a bit confused. The "administration" folks don't really post that much at the Holland Forums. They do watch over us and they will poke in once in a while to remove posts or "spank some bottoms" when the time comes that it needs to be done.

I think she's talking about hosts (as in the US, UK, west in general) integrating and mingling with the guests (immigrants, be they muslim, or just arab, asian, etc.)

As for the site.. I've seen much worse. The internet is a favorite place for loudmouth ignorant people. Those forums don't seem too imbalanced though, you've got your haters, but also some people to set them straight.
I shall check it out, maybe join, if I find some time inshallah.:)

I'm a little different then some. I was lucky enough to grow up with two teachers as parents. Dad was a professor and traveled the world with his students. I got the great benefit of seeing many different cultures and people.

I'm also open-minded, atheist (can you be open AND atheist ? lol), curious and sincere.

Why has Islam had such a "bad reputation" in the last 50 80 100yrs?

Do you think that "modern" Islam has changed for SOME people in the last century or so?

Become more "politicized" in a way...for SOME people?

It was the ID...Ar-Rayyan that led me to ask that question Umm ul-Shaheed.
It looked to me (because I pretty much only know English) like it was a variation
of the word Aryan. After thinking that I asked.
