The Freedom of Being Unknown

Qaasim al Joo'ee (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:
اِغْتَنِمُواْ مِنْ أَهْلِ زَمَانِكُمْ خَمْساً:
Benefit from the people of your time in five things:
إِنْ حَضَرْتُم لَمْ تُعْرَفُواْ
That you are not known when you show up,
وَ إِنْ غِبْتُم لَمْ تَفْتَقِدُواْ
you are not missed whenyou are absent,
وَ إِنْ شَهِدْتُم لَمْ تُشَاوَرُواْ
you are not asked for your input when you are present,
وَ إِنْ قُلْتُمْ شَيْئاً لَمْ يُقْبَلْ قَوْلُكُمْ
your statements are not accepted when you speak,
وَ إِنْ عَمِلْتُمْ شَيْئاً لَمْ تُعْطَوا بِهِ.
and when you do something, you are not given anything for it.
