Hey Im new here.

I try my best to follow Islam as much as I can and to follow the rules of it but I have heard so many times that music is forbidden in Islam. Why is this so? Music is an art, it makes people happy. Its not like watching pornography or having a girlfriend, its just instruments and a singer. Why have I heard so many times that its not allowed in Islam?
