According to the Bible, Jesus said: "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, render unto God what is God's" - Matthew 22:21. This is generally accepted as encouraging separation of Church and State. What does the Qu'ran say on the topic? As individual Muslims, do you believe that religion and government should be separate entities?

Give God what belongs to God - your life

Well, in another sense, we also know that Jesus was not the final messenger, therefor the combination of religion and state into one entity would have to wait until the time of Muhammad. So if Jesus actually said that, it doesn't necessarily contradict anything.
