Evil is created by Iblees. And Iblees was created by Allah .

Did Allah create evil indirectly i.e. through Iblees?

How do you answer when a disbeliever asks you the question: Why is there so much hate and evil in this world when Allah is supposed to be loving and good?

I tried looking for answers to this question here but could not find anything relevant. If someone could link me to previous threads or answer here, I would greatly appreciate it.

according to Dr Bilal Philips, if we look at Surat Al Falaq:

Authu Billahi mina shaytanir rajiim
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
From the evil of that which He created

as well as the verse "La Hawla wa la Quwata illh Billah"

we see that a) there is no power or strength EXCEPT for Allah, but also that b) here is indeed evil in some of what He created!

HOWEVER we mustn't see only the evil therein. BOTH Adam & Iblees disobeyed Allah, BUT once Adam was taught words of repentance, he returned to Allah! the act of "returning to Allah" is a great act of worship! Iblees on the other hand, refused to submit and claimed that Allah was wrong [nowuthubillah] when he indicated that Adam was better than himself.

we recite Surat Al Khaf every Friday, In Sha'a Allah. may i remind og the story of Musa and Qhidr?

65: And they found a servant from among Our servants to whom we had given mercy from us and had taught him from Us a [certain] knowledge.
66: Moses said to him, "May I follow you on [the condition] that you teach me from what you have been taught of sound judgement?"
67: He said, "Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience.
68:And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"
69: [Moses] said, "You will find me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in [any] order."
70: He said, "Then if you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it mention."
71: So they set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, al-Khidh r tore it open. [Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? You have certainly done a grave thing."
72:[Al-Khidh r] said, "Did I not say that with me you would never be able to have patience?"
73: [Moses] said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot and do not cover me in my matter with difficulty."
74: So they set out, until when they met a boy, al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing."
75:[Al-Khidh r] said, "Did I not tell you that with me you would never be able to have patience?"
76:[Moses] said, "If I should ask you about anything after this, then do not keep me as a companion. You have obtained from me an excuse."
77:So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so al-Khidh r restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment."
78: [Al-Khidh r] said, "This is parting between me and you. I will inform you of the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience.
79: As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force.
80:And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief.
81:So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.
82: And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience."
Musa spoke directly to Allah for decades and yet, he was told by "a servant of Allah" how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"

we see Musa astounded at the doings of Qhidr, and yet in the end he[Qhidr] spoke of the true wisdom behind what he had done!

Why is there so much hate and evil in this world when Allah is supposed to be loving and good?
that evil comes not from Allah, but from men and jinn themselves. it IS the worst kind. as long as we disobey Allah, there will be rampant evil in this world. but we can't blame Allah, only ourselves.

btw,if you go to Bilal Philps official website and to the video download section, watch the 1st episode of Foundations of Islamic Studies. he explains it there much better than i did.

of course good and evil is all from Allah bcoz only Allah is One True God.

but its not pure evil. for eg. iblees; he is evil but if we disobey him, we will come closer to Allah which is something good.

in the world there is so much crime, sorrows but had Allah made this world pleasing, who will wish to go back to Allah and enjoy in jannah?

You may find many threads regarding Ibilis. But I will give a short intro. He was made by Allah as a human but he didn't prostrate to Prophet Adam(AS) so he was rejected from paradise and he swore to guide all muslims he could to stray on the wrong path.

That is how evil is created,by the temptings of Ibilis(shytaan),he creates greed, desire and makes doubts into our minds forcing us to do bad/evil deeds and sadly we still do them and this is what we must pray for YaAllah save us from Ibilis! Ameen.

few correction:

iblis is not a human but jinn

he swore to misguide whole humanity and not just muslims

ALLAH, THE CREATOR OF ALL ACTIONS

All actions of creation are created by Allah Ta'ala, be such actions kufr or Imaan, worship or sin, obedience or disobedience . Man has no power of creation. Allah Ta'ala is the Sole Creator. However, Allah does not compel man to act. He has given man aql (intelligence) and has guided him with the mission of Risaalat(sending of Rasools to him) so that man can distinguish between truth and falsehood, virtue and vice. Allah has further granted man will (iraadah) to enable him to choose and act voluntarily in matters of truth and falsehood, obedience and disobedience. Man in this world is on a journey of trial. Recompense in terms of his actions will be in the Aakhirah. Hence, when he uses his volition to act in any particular direction, Allah Ta'ala does not restrain him, but creates the actions of his volitional choice, be such acts evil or virtuous, be they kufr or Imaan.

It might explain a bit but not all, what you are trying to understand.
