Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam
We kindly ask you to take a few minutes of your time to read our request.
We are a community of Ahlus-Sunnah in Hamburg, Germany, in need of our brothers and sisters support.
After years of agitation, slander and countless lies, our association Masjid al-Quds "Arabischer Kulturverein e.V." in Hamburg was closed at the beginning of this year.
This was necessary. Due to the accusations and hostility from public authorities, media and parts of the general population, it was no longer possible to maintain the Masjid properly. Muslims were afraid to come to the masjid and to support it - not because of any alleged “terrorists” that were assumed there, but out of fear of reprisals in their work and private life.
The attendance decreased and so did the income from donations for rent and maintenance of the Masjid. The mosque association, which had once been so vital, found itself in social isolation.
Thus, it could not continue to carry out its main task: DAWA.
There was only one solution to this problem: We needed to establish a new Masjid Association to start all over again -
a Masjid, that commits itself to the congregational prayer, Islamic education and upbringing,
a Masjid that tries to fulfill the greatest obligation of the Muslims here in Germany… the Dawa,
and a Masjid that clearly stands for a peaceful and neighborly life in this country.
In order to achieve these goals, we have to leave the former Masjid al-Quds’ premises. The rent is too high and the past throws shadows on this building.
Only by leaving this building, we will finally overcome the past and will be able to invite Muslims and Non-Muslims to our Masjid and to Islam again -insha´Allah-.
This is why we need your help:
We have already found a new premises.
A three-storied building has been offered to us.
If we manage to raise a down payment of € 100.000, by the
6th of May 2009, we will insh’Allah get this building. Insh’Allah we will be able to pay the remaining amount of € 200.000,- as hire purchase on a monthly basis.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam, please help us with this project by donating for our new Masjid fi-sabilillah.

To contribute towards the building of a Mosque is regarded as “Sadaqa Jariya” which affords the continuity of reward even after death
The Prophet (saws) said:
“If a human dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqa Jariah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him”.
(Narrated by Muslim).
And Allah (SWT) says in the Qur´an:
Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Sustenance to such of His servants as He pleases: and nothing do ye spend in the least (in His Cause) but He replaces it: for He is the Best of those who grant Sustenance.
34:39
And in Surat al-Hadid:
Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity); for them is a great Reward.
57:7
