:sl: my brother and sisters.

I can't believe i am posting this because i am so disgusted at myself but i need help greatly!!

I have never drunk, smoked, done drugs or had a girlfirend because i fear Allah...however since i was 13 i have the habit of watching Porn and Masterbating. Since ive started praying last year...the habit has lessened greatly...however i still have something comes over me. After my habit, i break down and cry and do two rakahs for forgiveness and became depressed for a day or two and say i never will ever do it again. I don't understand why i can't break this habit?? i fear Allah so much but shaytaan has a grip on me, this is a disgusting habit and i don't understand why i do it. I am ashamed and disgraced at myself.

Please my brothers and sisters, help me!! give me some words of wisdom, please don't look down at me, i am only human who is making a major mistake and i always ask Allah for forgiveness and for strength to break this habit but my dua's aren't being answered.

I am so embarassed.

Alhumdulillah that u are ashamed of it and inshaAllah this is an opening in you curing urself away from this evil.
The best way to protect ourselves against such evil is if able to get married. If you cannot get married for whatever reason then start fasting as instructed by Muhammed Sallallahu alayhi wasallam to prevent openings to urges.
Remember that when u watch these things, would u not be embarassed if someone walked in on u watching it? then are u not embarassed that Allah is watching u whilst u watch filth?
Throw out whatever source from which u are watching this from and if it is through the internet then block such sites and keep ur net somewhere where someone may be passing so u will not be able to put it on in case they passed and saw.
InshaAllah as u stop one habit the other will stop, may Allah make it easy for u

First of all Mashallah brother, i didn't even have the guts to post when i was going through this:embarrass. Keep away from what starts that urge. Anything that leads to what is haraam is itself haraam. Keep your self busy with good things. fast brother it really does help and start reading more about Islam as you do you'll know how to break the thoughts of doing it.

Hint: When you get the urge try listening to something like duas on youtube helped me, something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rMuGddL5ow.

Alhamdulillah, thats good thing for you did let it out from inside you. You remember a past sin it is recommended to renew one's remorse and seeking forgiveness, while being thankful to Allah Ta'ala for the success of leaving the sin. But you shouldn't leave repentance if one keeps falling into the sin. Rather, one should keep renewing one's repentance while striving to fulfill its conditions of sincere remorse, leaving the sin, and resolving never to return.

"Allah continues accepting the repentance of a servant until they take their very last breath." [Tirmidhi (3460) and Ahmad (5885), from Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him)]

I have a formula for you and this is how it goes:

1.Prevention
If its the TV abandon it, if its the computer disconnect it from the supply and cut the chord in two,if its a women walking down the street look down and count the chewing gum's that are stuck on the pavement

2.Required Reflection
Compulsory ibadah! (the shaytan will suffer greatly)

3.Extra reflection
Sunnah (if you want to go for the kill then extra ibadah!)

4.Participation
do halal stuff, play football or whatever sport you like

5.Good friends
If you have bad friends change them

6.Starvation
Fasting

if you abide by the above formula and it still hasnt stopped you from watching

then number 7 is :

7.Marriage

Aslmkm,

Remember this can affect your intimate performance after marriage regardless of what scientific studies/media may say....

It weakens one health...weak children can result...not to mention spiritual weakness that can result in forthcoming generations....
it has huge consequences....hope you will be able to stop by keeping this in mind with all the other advise given on the thread.

Good on you to seek help...save your energy for your wife ..it will be worth it!

If you're old enough, get married as soon as possible.

May be you have some bigger issues in you life that you need to address since porn is a distraction. May be you use porn to distract your self from what really needs to be addressed?

You should find something particular to replace this habit. So then when ever you feel like watching porn you think of this other thing and do that instead.

You should also keep in mind that most addictions need to be broken gradually. For example if someone smokes, he would cut down on the number of cigarettes on a regular basis and eventually stop all together when he feels strong enough to do so. I am not sure if this should be the approach for porn, but wanted to though it out there if someone wants to expand on this.
