hmm mecca is tempting, praying right infront of the kab'a every day and hearing the adhaan. But Medina also praying in the prophets masjid every day hmm

If you read one of bro Mikayeels thread it states Mecca(which is the improper spelling) means house of wine, say Makkah.

I would live in Makkah because:
• Prophet was born there
•Islam started there
•The kaabah is there.
•And it is an lovely place overall.

But I wouldnt refuse an air ticket to Medinah if thats on your mind:D

Maybe you could post a poll?

I haven't been to either. But, I think to live, I'd like to live in Medina. I imagine it to have an atmosphere of calmness and scholarly endeavours. :)

After I've been to both, InshAllah, I'll let you know.

I would go for Madinah. I've been to Makkah and my friend lived in both a long time. Medina has more knowledge and it's protected by God, he said you can actually feel it. Its people are kinder.

Madina.
I've been to both of them only once and that was during Hajj. And like people say I found Madina more calm and tranquil. In addition to that maybe two or three umrahs in a month. :thumbs_up:D:statisfie

Yes. Only problem is that as some say, especially for Asians and Arabs, it is very hard to get a residency and work permit there in Saudi. A cheeky friend said "It's easier to go to paradise than it is to go to Saudi!!" :D
