As salamu alaykum,

The Example of the Sinner

The example of all evil things, like sins, desires, lusts, envy, hatred, jealousy, back biting, transgression is like the example of a stick.

A stick???

Yes. A stick.

The example of the sinner, the one who follows his desires, chases after this world, running after women, the one is engrossed in the disobedience of Allah (swt), and indulging in every sin and fufilling his desires and lust in the most immoral way, is like a dog.

A dog???

Yes. A dog.

And it his master shaytan that waves the stick in front of his eyes, and like a dog, his tongue begins to hang out and his mouth drools.

And every time shaytan throws this stick he runs after it, he fetches it protectively, and brings it back full of pride and joy fooling him self in to believing he has achieved. Where in actual fact, the stick is worthless and the dog is wasting his energy running back and forth bring it back to his master.

Begging his master to throw it again.

Don't be a dog for shaytan, because that's what you become when you induge in sins. If you continue to do that then shaytan will have you like a dog on a lead, pulling you where ever he wishes.

Rather, be the master over shaytan (the shaytan inside you called the kareen). Treat him like an enemy, worse than like a vicious dog.

So when you pray the 5 prayers and tahajjud, stand on his neck and it is like poking him in the eyes with a hot metal rod.

When you fast in Ramadhan and Mondays and Thursdays, punch him in the stomach.

When you pay Zakah and give charity secretly, it is like stepping on his foot.

When you cry to Allah, repenting for your sins it is like slapping him in the face.

Be a honorable slave to Allah, not a humiliated dog to shaytan.
