Asalam Alykom

I have a friend living in the US and want with her husband to migrate to Saudi Arabia or any other country in the middle east if Saudi is not possible.

Her husband has an IT degree, so he will be looking for a company that need IT people

Please any links for websites of applying jobs in the middle east or even for doing hijra (migration) to Saudi will be very helpful for them

I am sure a lot of you guys have already did some search for such thing. So anything you provide will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

asalaamu alaikum ukthee,

unfortunetely i do not know of any sites that have career opportunities or hijrah information about saudi. i could do a simple google search but am not sure how accurate some of the results would be.

my advice would be for them to contact the saudi embassy. not only can they help with immigration issues, but they can also even help find jobs, or give sources to find jobs.

wa salaam

http://www.hijra.net/forum/
^ There might be some helpful info there, they'd have to register to view the forums though. They post about job positions that they know about in a few Middle East countries, and they can ask any questions they have...

Not sure about any other site off the top of my head.

Hijra.net is pretty good InshahAllah.

The way thinsg work here in gulf , Sudi , uae kuwait qatar etc is u get hired by a company n they apply for a visa for u.

One good way is to visit these countries and apply for jobs , tat is what most people do

Second know people in these countries and have connections that can make something happen InshahAllah n arragnge something

Third Hire a consultant , a recruitment firm , this is pretty good actually , i have friends for whom this has worked. InshahAlah iwill go through the news papaer n post names n web addresses of some leading recruitment firms out here.

InshahAllah if the brother has some experience he will get a nice job in saudi , other gulf countries are kinda stuck in this crisis like UAE where i am at , Seems like no body is hirirng.

For saudi another good idea is go for Umrah , Stay there for the whole month , see the local news papers n get the addresses or recruiters, go to ryadh n jeddah n dahran n dammam and personally meet peopel n apply for jobs.

Will try to gather some info n get back to this thread, May Allah make making hijra easy for all of us, If i could i would take teh first flight to saudi and i live in a gulf country!

Assalam O Alikum

Maybe I can be of some help. My husband and I had decided to do just that and went to Abu dhabi with nothing but some savings and no job in hand. Alhamdolillah by the end of exact fourth week my husband had started his new job. But he had to go through a lot of trouble.

There was one thing though, my dad was already living there and helped us ALOT, we lived for free in a hotel for about 2 months and my maternal uncle knew all the companies as he was already working there as a marketing person.

Every morning they would go out and drop his CV at every engineering/oil company. Then theyd return for lunch and then theyd go out for the second shift. i dont even know how many companies they visited, but he had about 5/7 interviews in 2 weeks, he chose the one he liked, contract formalities took a week and Alhamdolillah end of fourth week he was going to work.

We tried so much to apply for a job online on many sites when we were in europe, i just couldn't stand living there anymore, but it didnt work. The UAE visa regulations are much easier as compared to saudi and kuwait, especially kuwait which proved to be a nightmore for us.

In all of this, you have huge risks ahead of you. Middle estern jobs are based on immediate availability of the candidate,, they unlike european companies do not pay for the candidate to be flown in from other continent, or even another country. They also want them to start working immediately. Alot of jobs are not advertised, most are advertised in local papers and the ones which ARE advertised online are highly specialised ( 15 yrs experience and a PhD :D) and even then you may never hear from them.

The best way to get a job in the middle east is to go there and apply. It is a risky thing to do you mostly need wasta ( contacts/recommendatiosn from local person/company) and you would have to aply for huge rents and transportation everyday trying to find a job on top of that support your family.

I am not trying to put you off, I was so sure about Allah helping us that Alhamdolillah it happened so quickly for us, without any problems and without any wasta. May Allah have mercy on you too and solve your problems. But do think about it and do not jump into it and try and contact the HR department by phone or email of the company the he wants to apply to before hand so you can build up a connection.

try and find a list of companies in the country you want to go to. I loved Kuwait the best, MAshaAllah.

You can also browse local newspapers, gulfnews.com , kuwaittimes.com or khaleejtimes.com

Working experience can help. He should contact IT companies and ask whether they have any working experience placements. He will gain experience and he will find it easier to find a job.

For IT andalot of jobs bayt.com is very good, although we found some good jobs there my husband never heard back from them even though he ahd about 4 years experience back then. Nevertheless we found it was the most helpful site.

My husband had also registered at a recruitment /job agency the biggest one in abu dhabi was.. hmmm forgot the name but we registered there and paid for it but to date we never heard from them either :D you could call it hmm good luck as he got a better job himself hehee so I dont know about these options although these are good, it didnt work out for us, it may for other people, there IS some incompetency in the system so... the best way may be for the husband to go alone for a month and try and find work or something.

May Allah help you all, ameen.

Ssiter Hopeful's reply is very detailed , n its very true , in their case they had people out here n connections , here its all about the connectios at times, whenever a company needs some one first of all the peopel in that company refer their friends n relatives n the word usually does not even get out. And ye steher are two ways , First u gotta come out here yourself and second know peopole here who can guide u, without that comming out here might not prove very useful.

One thing about saudi it is doing much better than UAE at the moment in these crisis, So try to contatc some recruitment firms In saudi , check aramco website that is a big company, InshahAllah i will try to get soem contatcs of saudi recruiters and post em here.

One more thing is that lots of local people are becooming qualified and they obviously have priority over others , same thing in saudi , most departments are hiring more and morre saudi people And here emiratis are all over the place. But let shope for the best and keep trying , May Allah make making hijra easy for them and all of us.
