I found this on a site. Please do NOT sign. I am just asking for suggestions/feedback from the staff and members. We might need someone to handle this as well, if we ARE to actually open it:

-----------------------------------------------------

Quality Posting Initiative

We're all aware of the general fanboyism problem not only here, but through all the internet. More and more, it's becoming more difficult to find a high quality discussion to participate in especially when it comes to consoles subjects.

This is not to discuss this, there are enough thread full of people complaining about this recurrent behavior. This is an Initiative, started by PS3Forums staff to encourage people to become Quality Members. This is the "Quality Posting Initiative".

What is it about? Quite simple: It's about compromising ourselves to upgrade significantly our posting quality in any kind of discussions, from mere opinions about stuff posted, heated discussions and conversations in general. Just to do our best to try to make our best post every time we write something.

For example, if you are in a heated subject and you've just finished writing, take your time to recheck your post and improve it by making your points clearer, replacing the heated parts with something that would say the same but in a more polite way and , in general, try to keep the debate in a high level.

This applies to everything posted, even mere opinions about a game, a preview, etc. Avoiding comments in the lines of "Meh"... "* Yawn* " ... or even positive yet "empty" like "W000t!... th1s iz th3 r00x00rzz!" .. especially when they aren't supported by some kind of analysis.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of their console preference or posting history. We believe this will have its results, and when we have a consistent group, they will be awarded by a distinguishable signature, and probably even an icon indicating you’re a member of the “Quality Posting Initiative”.

All suggestions are welcome, just remember this is not a political subject about the problems of the forums (all forums currently have them) but about the best way to reach higher posting standards through our users.

I think that's a great idea, eHafiz, anything which helps make dialogue more enjoyable and fruitful for everyone has to be a good thing. :)

Maybe one rule I would add is a limit on the length of quotations of articles from other websites, to encourage people to summarise things they've read and put them into their own words - as it's very easy just to copy one long article without actually having engaged properly with the arguments contained in it yourself. This would be beneficial both to the poster (who would perhaps understand the article better themselves) and the readers (less to read and easier to discuss the particular points the poster is making). Points 1 and 5 are much more important than this though.

Salam,
