The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that 2009 first-round draft choice Nazem Kadri has signed a three year Entry Level contract with the hockey club. Kadri, 18, was selected seventh overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the Maple Leafs on June 26. *The London, Ontario native placed ninth in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with 53 assists and 15th with 78 points in 2008-09. He was the OHL leader in shorthanded points (10) and he ranked second in shorthanded goals (5) this past season. The forward finished ninth in 2009 OHL playoff points with 21 (9g, 21a) in 14 games. Kadri, played a key role in leading the Kitchener Rangers to the OHL championship and the Memorial Cup Final in 2007-08. He collected nine goals and 17 assists during the 2008 Playoffs. Kadri is participating in the Maple Leafs Prospect Camp along with 24 others this week in Toronto.
