There's this popsicle that has gelatin in it. I was wondering if you guys could tell me if it's halaal, because on the front box it says "all natural" etc.

You make it sound like baby food. :exhausted

Well, it's probably Haraam. But someone in my family bought it, and we all ate one, and then one of us happened to read the box and found out it has gelatin in it. :X

The gelatin used in Popsicle® pop acts as a gelling agent. The gelatin is sourced from beef and will be clearly listed inside the ingredient statement if it is in our products.

imsad It was an ACCIDENT.

I once heard KitKat was Haraam. Ended up being a false rumor, and I had to sacrifice KitKat from my life for like, 3 years. I better be compensated for that in the hereafter.

As long as I have my Hershey's cookies'n'cream I'm fine. :X

I was actually curious about that as well. Where can I confirm?

@ Mars Bars: We don't have that in the US, except in the Desi stores. Cadbury rules, anyway.

I hate unclear answers. Anyone know?

Here's something I found, to chew on. If someone can then tell me if he means it's halaal or not:

There are two kinds of gelatin in Islam. Halal gelatine and haram gelatin.

And the problem is, we don't know which gelatin that used in this product.
Ulama in my place say, product like this is categorized as 'Syubhat' (Questionable / make doubt), because we don't know this is halal or haram.

'Syubhat' food probably haram. So, don't eat it.

Brother I hope someone was able to answer your question I just want to point out claims such as "all natural" include meat products as well. For animal products, such as gelatin, are naturally occurring are they not?

In fact you can get synthetic gelatin nowadays, so "all natural" gelatin would be the real deal.

Natural is a term often abused by the food industry and you would be surprised how far people bend definitions.

Advertising is ruthless, don't be fooled by the pretty packaging and fantastic claims, best to always research if in doubt (the ingredient list would be the prefect place to start):)
