Doors Of Success Have Been Closed!

.

Assalaam O Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!
The doors of success have been closed upon the creation because of six things:

  1. Their busying themselves with the blessings of Allah instead of thanking Allah for them,
  2. Ttheir desire for knowledge while they abandon actions,
  3. The hastiness to sin and delaying repentance,
  4. The deception of having righteous companions and not taking them as examples,
  5. The turning away of the dunya from them while they chase it,
  6. and the approach of the afterlife towards them while they turn away from it.”
Taken from al-Fawaa’id by Ibn al Qayyim: Pg. 161

Actually Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim has given these 6 which he believes that are important in his sight but everyone is at liberty to add more notes. As more knowledge is being bestowed by Allah Subhanahowatallah unto his slaves , more points need to be added. This list can go on and on. But here I will mention a few more which I believe, and anyone can differ with me, are contributing, beside the points which the learned Imam has mentioned, to the doors of success being closed:

7, Making no efforts on our part and leaving everything to Allah.
8, Blaming others for our mistakes
9, Not acknowledging our faults and not correcting ourselves
10, Arguing with others unnecessarily when in our heart we know that we are wrong
11, presenting arguments not being backed by facts and figures and rationality
12, quoting Rasul Allah s.a.w. without authentic chain of narrators
13, Giving importance to and practicing Zaeef hadis which are not supported by Muhadaseen and leaving authentic Hadis out of our lives
14 Neither understanding nor practicing the word of Allah i.e. Quran
15, Muslims being unjust in their everyday dealing with brother muslims and non-muslims

The list can go on and on.
