View Full Version : I am off ...
... on a camping holiday for a week.
Can't wait to get into the Norfolk sea and into the river.
Hoping to look for shellfish and for pretty stones on the beach.
A week of relaxing, reflecting and spending as much time outdoors as I can ...
Be excellent to each other! :)

Give the ocean a hug for me and tell it I miss it. Although I am now near countless lakes, I do miss the ocean.

Wow, I didn't expect the thread to have grown so much in just a week!
Thank you all for your good wishes.
We had a great time, even if the weather wasn't perfect.
I couldn't resist the water and went swimming in both the river and the sea.
Like Woodrow, I love the sea particularly. There is something about it's vastness that is just awesome!
I spent some time pondering how precious life is, and how much time we waste with spreading discord and disharmony, with arguing and fighting, with feeling angry and resentful ... when perhaps we should try to cram life full of peace and thankfulness and friendship and understanding, and to share as much of that with others as we possibly can!

It's good to hear you have a wonderful time. Praise be to Allah.
Btw, the top of the house and window in the second picture is wonky? Why is that?
Edit: Tnx for sharing pics. It loks like a lovely place, especially that doorway <3

It's an old house. I guess they built them like that ...

The doorway was taken in the ruins of an old priory.
It was the most beautiful and tranquil place ...
Here are a couple more:

The pictures were taken in different locations in Suffolk and Norfolk (the most Eastern parts of England)

I'm scared of the wonky house and the ruiny place seems to be haunted.
The country side is beautiful though. Did you see any practicing muslims there Glo?

Strangely enough I noticed hardly any Muslims at all - not even in Norwich, which is a fair-sized city.
The whole of Norfolk seems almost exclusively white-British.
Being used to living in pretty multi-cultural town that seemed quite strange ...

I had a feeling that might be the case. I've always wanted to see beautiful england, but I wonder if people from such places are anti-muslim as they've never had any interaction with them and probably only believe what the media pukes out. For that reason, I think going there, would be like a chicken going into a fox's den, lol.

That's not really the case, Scent.
Many places in Britain (granted, mostly in the cities) are
very multi-cultural and cater for all kinds of religious and cultural needs.
What I saw (or didn't see) in Norwich really was the exception ...
