Hello everybody

I have a question regarding the Punjab population of Pakistan (I've read that most of them are muslims, is that true?). If it is, can anyone with sufficient knowledge inform me about the muslim punjab's/islamic attitude towards tradition? Do they dance bhangra dances and wear turbans at weddings (the men)? Do they read the Qur'an and pray the normal way?

Thanks a lot, with hearty wishes

I can't speak for everyone, but I've never heard of a wedding in pakistan that hasn't had freshie music and dancing and that is segregated, its part of their hindu culture which they won't let go of. Islam doesn't seem to exist in a pakistani wedding until the imam steps up on the stage to do a dua

Salaam

theres Music - there is also segregation but no dancing but it also depends on whos wedding it is.

By the way historically the "Hindu culture" was very conservative, whatever you mean by that.

Like I said I can't speak for everyone, there might even be proper islamic weddings who knows, I've noticed greater awareness of islam in pukistan last time I went and was amazed to see the amount of women wearing niqaab
