Saalam,
I was just wondering sometimes I listen to nasheeds but feel guilty and I think should I be listening to some surah instead like yasin or mulk which are more important?
Jazakallah.

does anyone know the name of the nasheed that I think was recited to the prophet(pbuh) when a boy saw him in the distance comming on his cammel and went and told everyone and they sang it as they greeted him--i think.

@br strenghtmill there is nothing wrong with listening to nasheeds without instruments but its better (and more reward) to listen or read the Qur'an.

listen to Surahs like Yasin and Mulk but u can listen to nasheeds also.
Allah did not make us to pray or fast or do zikr continously. He allowed halal entertainment in between also to refresh the mind and heart.
