Whats a good quran to Hafiz with please

Saalam,

I want to get a quran with clear arabic and english translation, the problem is most of the ones I see online there are always people complaining about how inaccurate it is. Which is understandable to an extent as its hard to translate the full beauty of the quran.

So which one should i get ?

Yusuf ali is popular but people complain about grammatical errors. I would like one like dr Zakir Naik ?

I prefer saying: the Noble Qur'an is one, and it is perfectly accurate. Only the mushafs have differences. :)

It's far better to read a tafseer, al hamdu lillah Ibn Katheer's Tafseer is available. Especially a hafiz shouldn't rely only on the translation.

The only version of that quran I could find brother was just an english tranlation with no arabic ? mybe im looking at the wrong one ?

I would suggest is first forget about any translations if you are trying to memorize the Qur'an as a Hafiz. Conentrate more on the Arabic text and use the Transliteration as a pronunciation guide. Learn the proper pronunciation through any of the good only courses.

If that is not practical listen to the recitations by noted reciters. I personally like Ghamdi. Repetition and more repetition is the key.

Now, to properly use translations do not rely on any one. Arabic can not be accuratly translated into English. Instead select at least 3 translations and use them to try to get an accurate feel as to what is being said.

The Qur'an actually has a very small Arabic vocabulary used in it. Smaller than the expected vocabulary of a 10 year old. However, it is the beauty in how those few words are arraigned that is miraculous.

These are simply my opinions as a fairly new revert. I may be wrong Astagfirullah

I know its Very important to get somone to listen to you to make sure the tajweed is good and your reading correctly but I dont really have easy access to a mosque, what would you guys recommend ?

Tajweed is difficult and it is best to have a coach to correct you. But, when that is not possible the best choice is any of the online instructions.

I have found Tayyiban institute to be very good. However, if you have a slow ISP it is difficult. You are best with Broadband.

Akhee...it is good to buy a cd or video on tajweed... if you can't go to any classes.

youtube is good too...if you're not able to do any of the above.

I was about to but the 'noble quran' but found this review:

This translation is the absolute worse translation you could buy! Please do NOT buy it. It's more of a salafi tafsir that the Salafi government of Saudi Arabia is trying to pass off as a translation of the Qur'an itself. It may have a nice appearance and may even seem authentic at first because of the ahadith they cite to "support" their interpretation (mind you these ahadith are usually taken out of context). However, I must warn you not to fall for this. All you have to do is compare this horrid translation to any other more reputable translation like Muhammad Asad's or Yusef Ali's and you will begin to see that the Noble Qur'an is nothing more than a Salafi tafsir. It wouldn't be so bad if they just labeled it as a tafsir but they don't. They want you to actually think that the tafsir is the actual translation. That their interpretation is actually what the Qur'an says or means! They take such liberty to give the impression that the Qur'an hates Christians and Jews, thinks of women as filth, thinks that women should only have "one eye" exposed to see and other horrible things.

Get a less controversial and more reputable translation like Muhammad Asad (which is awesome!). Asad actually tries to stays with what the Arabic says and lets you know clearly when he has interjected (which isn't often unlike the Noble Qur'an).

What do you guys think is there any truth in this ?

I personally reccomend, Ali, Pickthal and Shakir. I find that each gives views the other 2 don't and when the three are read together, I find a good "feeling" for what the Arabic is conveying.
