Doesn't "Al-Rahmaan" come second? =)

2. Ar-Rahmaan (The Compassionate)

If you recite this name of Allah 100 times daily after every Salaah (prayer), Allah will remove hard-heartedness and negligence from your heart. Insha-Allah.

Al-Malik الملك
The Absolute Ruler

And thus have We bestowed from on high this divine writ
as a discourse in the Arabic tongue,
and have given therein many facets to all manner of warnings,
so that men might remain conscious of Us,
or that it give rise to a new awareness in them.
Know, then that God is sublimely exalted,
the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth:
and knowing this, do not approach the Qur'an in haste,
ere it has been revealed unto thee in full, but always say:
"O my Sustainer, cause me to grow in knowledge!"
Ta Ha 20:113-114, tr. Asad

Just to point out, most of the "99 names of Allah" lists aren't completely authentic. So please make sure the name is authentic before posting.

^^Where does it say that? Allah(swt) isn't limited to a couple of words.

The hadith that mentions that Allah has 99 names is authentic, but it does not mention what those names are.

However, there is a weak hadith that mentions 99 names, and most of these lists are taken from that list. See this article.

But besides that point, isn't Allah(swt) all of that still? He is technically the ruler, the provider, the merciful, the only who forgives etc...

I read the article but isn't sitting well with me.

I know brother. My point was, isn't Allah(swt) befitting of all those names?

My only point is that sometimes those lists of 99 names aren't all authentic. The ones that have been listed so far in this thread are authentic. I'm just saying there are unauthentic names out there that sometimes get onto these lists.

7. Al-Mu'min (The Granter of Security)

If you recite this name of Allah 630 times in times of fear, Allah will protect you from all calamities, mishaps and losses. If you write it on paper (or engrave it on a silver ring) and keep it with you (as Ta'weez), your physical and spiritual safety will remain the responsibility of Allah. Insha-Allah.
