Sheikh Husain Abdul Sattar is an amazingly inspiring Sheikh masha'Allah [may he be rewarded in abundance]
insha'Allah you'll find this site beneficial. He is going through each surah ... each verse and analysing it [tafseer]. :)

Dont say you are thick. You are not. Humans are not perfect and obvioulsy there are things that we find difficult to understand but that doesnt make us thick or stupid.
If you love reading books check out this website. They actually give you free islamic books :
http://www.islamic-message.net/English/index.htm as well as reading the translation of the Qur'an, Hadiths and stories about the life of the prophet.
btw are you from UK?

Mashallah, it's great to know that you want to gain more knowledge :thumbs_up
and no, you don't have a thick head. Sometimes books will get hard to comprehend, but it won't stop you from learning. It's best to have a teacher to teach you from a book though, from own experience. xD I once read a book before the class even started and after the class, I realized that what I understood was completely different from what the teacher explained...anyways,
I know you mentioned that there are limited places at your place for learning, but maybe your local masjid offers some classes?

yeah you see thats what i heard that you might read a book but you will misunderstand it wrong, it could have a totally different meaning so i have been taking tension about this. so you need somebody to guide you.. my masjid don't offer any educational classes.
there is an imam there which offers free lectures to the non muslims which go there in mixed groups girls and boys together. i sat in on one lecture but it was just basic stuff.
