My First Interview ..Help!

Hello everyone ,

How are you all ??

I hope you are all fine :statisfie



Alhamdulillah ,I registered in a University and they asked me for an Interview .
I`m quite nervous and scared , but I know I shouldn't XD !

Well ,, I came here seeking help ! because this is my 1st interview
and I don`t know what are the frequently asked questions .


Plus :

EN is my second language , and the Interview will be in EN
(Not big deal) I don`t like EN ,, I LOVE IT !!
but I`m anxious if one of the Candidates asked me a question
and I`m BADAM! lost all my experience with EN ..(looks nonsense, eh :omg: )




I would appreciate any tips,advices,old experiences about having a collage interview ..etc .

It always help if you can prepare the supposely questions and remember all the answers...

I always did that...it works for me.

I didn't know that there were such sites discussing the Interviews Qs and As!

All the best with the interview, I'm sure they will just ask you general questions on why you want to join the uni, why the coarse you have chosen etc.. you will be fine. Show them that you are confident.

Right, here goes.

It has been many years since I interviewed for Uni but it is the same as with most jobs:-

1) They are usually not professional interviewers so they will be nervous too.
2) Be friendly, but not too friendly. They are not your friends.
3) Are you permitted to shake hands? If so make sure hand is dry, andkeep it firm nobody likes fondling a dead fish.
4)Do not crack jokes, they can and you should laugh but you do not.
5) DO YOUR RESEARCH, they will almost always ask why do you want to come here. Because you are the only dump that will take me is NOT a good reply. Find a reason to like the place, location, reputation one particlar lecturer (especially if it is the interviewer, but if it is make sure he has a good reputation and is not Joe Muggins superflop).
6) Do not tell tales out of school - if you tell funny tales about your school teachers you will tell them about your university lecturer and that is them.
7) Just remember it is not the end of the world if you do badly, they have seen dozens of nervous students before so they will make allowances for nerves.
8) Most important - 50% of interviews are made and lost in the first 10 seconds. Dress to the level expected - but if in doubt dress up not down, take a tie off a fancy outfit and it is casual, you cannot gussy up a casual outfit to look smart.
Look tidy, be clean, take ten minutes in the toilets to clean up, tidy up and use the facilities. Needing to wee or other creates a bad impression, plus you cannot concentrate and as for a f**t - fatal.

Last be nice to the people there you never know if one of them will be asked for an opinion, especially secretaries and receptionists.

The interview was great ! I really enjoyed it and wished to say alot of things
but you know .. you should replay on the Qs with a limited answer not with your life story XD!

as for the advise # 5

Thank goodness I was aware about that after I saw a video at youtube
advising about doing researches and reading about the uni you`re applying to , most of the int Qs were about the uni why did you choose our uni , and why do you want to study this course ..they even asked me about the year that the uni was established ! but I did answer all the questions with a confident !. The Prof. said "you really know a lot about the school".
