These thugs should receive the same treatment as punishment, if not WORSE! They should have their arms and legs amputated so that they are unable to repeat this again! :raging:

----------
A Second World War veteran has been brutally attacked just hours after scattering his late wife's ashes.

Sussex Police have released a photo of George Gibb's facial injuries in the hope it will encourage anyone with information to come forward.

The 85-year-old was walking in an alleyway between Legion Way and West Bracklesham Drive in Bracklesham Bay, near Chichester, West Sussex, when he was struck on the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

His friend Mike Hayes said the attack happened as Mr Gibb was walking home from his local British Legion club.

He said the veteran, who fought in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, had scattered his late wife's ashes earlier in the day.

She had passed away about five months ago.

Mr Hayes said: "It is just despicable that someone could do this to a defenceless man.

"His sister has just died so he's also trying to sort out her funeral at the moment."

He believes Mr Gibb has since left hospital and is recuperating at a friend's house.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said Mr Gibb was not able to describe the person who attacked him.

A black leather briefcase he was carrying at the time and a plastic bag which contained nothing of value were also stolen.

The incident took place just after 10pm on August 12.

:: Anyone with information on the assault is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Russell Burgess of Chichester CID on 0845 60 70 999, or to call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The scumbag(s) who did this should be punished to the full extent of the law.

We need corporal punishment back to deal with these violent thugs. 500 lashes is what they deserve.

even if the thugs get caught they will just get a slap on the wrist

but you know what irritates me is the european cops don't beat up the junkies when the cups drive through those junk head streets of london if they find some young youths causing trouble the cops should be aloud to beat the hell out of them... like the cops want to but they can't and it should be allowed even if the junky gives back cheek like the law is messed up seriously if a cop touched a criminal then the criminal can do case on the cop.. what the hell is this crap! no wonder there is so much crime! people will think twice if they do something wrong, they should fear the law.
AND ALSO IF ANYONE BEATS UP AN OLD MAN THEY SHOULD BE SENTENCED TO DEATH:raging:

I think stricker punishments are needed WHEN someone does a crime... look at the hugely populated countries with very harsh punishments as an example... its hard to believe that someone could do this to another person...

i mean really why???

look at him, poor guy, filled with grief and beaten.. some humans are really akin to animals.. it is unfathomable why anyone would do this to a grieving old guy who has lost so much.. I hope he survives this.. it really is possible to die of a broken heart..

^^^ Yes it is, I once looked after an old man who had taken a teenage boyunder his wing and gave him a place to live, after some time the boy let his friend in at night, they beat the old man with an iron bar and robbed his posessions. When the old man came to me he had given up, his injuries were terrible and he just waited for death. Robbed of a home, independence and life

I'll never understand, how anyone could raise their voice to an old person let alone beat them black and blue!? :(

Drink, drugs, shaytaan?

They will get their comeuppence sooner or later God willing.

^Reminds me why shariah law is a good deterrent and effective in cleaning society of its scum. Although in cases of wounds, the punishment is determined by nature of wound itself e.g. depth, severity etc etc..

Allah Exalted be He, says:

'And we ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth and for wounds a legal retribution..' (Quran: Al-Maidah:45)

Not really, because nobody knows who the criminals are.
