Please take out 5 minutes to read this insha'Allah and while you're reading keep in mind the words of our Prophet salAllah hu alaihi wasallam who said that the Muslim Ummah is like one body, if one part is in pain then the whole body aches.

This Ramadhan let us remember in our sincere duaa our forgotton, dare I say our unknown Brothers and Sisters who are suffering day in day out in Chechnya. Sadly alot of us either have little knowledge or are unaware of what is happening in Chechnya, unfortunately some of us have no clue what/where Chechnya is! That is not our fault at all, as we rely on the media to feed us information on wordly affairs and due to the media blackout in Chechnya it makes it a very difficult place to report from. But that doesn't mean to say there is no reliable sources of information out there :)

Very briefly: Chechnya has been in a state of war for more than 200 years ! The Chechens live in poverty and in fear while also being completely cut out of the political process, they remain in constant threat of arbitrary violence, torture and imprisonment! [Like I said this is the very minimum description of the situation]

Thus I believe it is vital that we all learn and increase our knowledge about our Chechen Brothers and Sisters so that we can create awareness among the public and make it a popular topic to be discussed insha'Allah. We have to realise and comprehend that YES we have Brothers and Sisters undergoing immense hardship in a Land called Chechnya and YES we insha'Allah will try and do something about it.

Our Beloved Rasool [peace be upon him] said If we see injustice or opression we must stop it with our hands and if that is not possible we must speak out against it!

First and foremost spreading awareness about the situation in Chechnya is a priority and therefore I ask you all to copy and paste this message and spread it along [facebook/messages/emails/forums etc] and feel free to add/remove any bits.

JazakAllah khair, insha'Allah you and your families are all having a blessed Ramadhan and reaping immense rewards :)

Amir Khattab and Shamil Basayev
May Allah accept them and all the other Chechen Mujahids as shaheeds.

Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; [3:169]

Gone during Ramadan
Publication time: 1 September 2009, 14:32

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful!

Praise be to Allah, besides whom there is no God who created death and life to test us, who among us is better while on the attack. Peace and blessing be upon the messenger of Allah, Emir of the Mujahideen, who wanted to be killed in battle in the way of Allah, and commanded the jihad as one of the greatest forms of worship, and promised the humiliation of a people who leave it.

Well as his family and companions, who said "We swore to Muhammad, to wage jihad until we are Shuhada (martyrs)" and conform to the path indicated to them by the Messenger.

And then:

On Friday night the 5th of Ramadan (August 27-28) during a fierce battle with the infidels using heavy equipment and special teams, three of our brothers - Abu Dharr (Albert Arsenov), Ibrahim and Muhammad Safi became martyrs (insha'Allah). They were one of the small groups bringing terror to the infidels in Shamilkala.

I remember that morning, at suhoor, the brother of Abu Dharr noticed that in the month of Ramadan, we have largest number of martyrs, and that last year, from the Jamaat "Shariah" alone the number of brothers gone was 24 people.

3 days later he and the brothers were encircled and blockaded in a house.

With the start of Ramadan, Abu Dharr literally could not find enough enemies, constantly preparing for another battle, and driving around Shamilkala looking for infidels who no longer appear on the streets in uniform, and which could be found only in security guard positions in flak jackets and possibly in Pampers (diapers).

By Allah, he left that evening Abu Dharr said:

"I feel we will run into an ambush today. Insha'allah we may become martyrs" and as always asked to make Dua ...

Another brother, Safi, relatively recently joined the Mujahideen, after helping them to stay in the city.

Allah rewarded him with amazingly cool character which manifested itself when he was surrounded by his brothers and got into a gunfight, he drove the car with amazing skill even with a shot out tires, with a bullet hole in his hand, away from the pursuit leaving behind a corpse of one policemen and the body of another, shouting and wounded "colleague" of the first.

During his appearance the "scholar in glasses" he hid the brave Mujahid, his humility and calm were worthy of admiration.

I remember once, when he, with a grenade rifle (!!!) under his jacket, went into a shop to buy something, he drew attention of two "bulls" (Russian mercenaries/police) if Safi desired, he could have easily scattered them in a matter of seconds, and a loud voice said: "let's take his shoes..".

Safi, without even raising an eyebrow, walked past them without being distracted by nonsense from his task.

Ibrahim, as he was called "the living martyr", was the eyes of his group.

By Allah, he never began idle conversation, and by Allah as we knew him, his lips constantly moved in silent dhikr (Remembrance of God) and spoke only when necessary. About him there is nothing to write even as he disliked talking about himself, behaved quietly and took the lead only if it was necessary to prepare a meal for his brothers or bombard infidels.

The Messenger of Allah in an authentic hadith says that Muslims are the witnesses of Allah on earth and we, the Mujahideen of the group Mu'ta testify that they were devout Muslims who came to jihad, gave Emir a bayat (allegiance), and left this Dunya (temporal world) in combat, raising the word of God so as they could, instilling fear of infidels, then, as apostates and hypocrites satisfied Taghut and zealous in the worship of them.

The brothers had gone out of this world by showing the strength and inflexibility of the Ummah, while the ignorant and the hypocrites talk about weaknesses and go on about tolerance of Taghut (idle laws of man).

They went into the holy month of Ramadan, at a time when the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are locked and shaytan is shackled in chains, in the blessed night of Friday, about which said in an authentic hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Any Muslim who dies on Friday or on Thursday night, Almighty Allah will save from tests in the grave." (Imam Ahmad).

Also, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

"Each servant who is pleading to get an answer in the month of Ramadan", and, behold, we turn in prayer to Allah to reward the Jannat-ul-Ferdows these and all our other brothers who were killed, raising the word of God on earth, and if God wills we die martyrs after them, when He wills and make us all neighbors in Paradise, as well as we were companions here on earth, in the way of Allah, jihad ...
