I'm getting told by some people that there aren't any job opportunities in any engineering fields in UK

Then theres someone I know who works for aston martin, saying there is if you try hard enough

Im starting to have doubts about future, ive already picked this course at uni and I don't know what to do now

The same goes for law. I heard students saying the job market for lawyers is decreasing. However my career adviser told me it depends on what area you’re specialising in, where you live and if you're determined to work hard. I did some research and found out the area of law which is high in demand.

So I would check with a career adviser. Do some research with the course you're studying and you will see there are plenty of opportunities if you look in the right direction.

I don't think the current economic environment is a good judge of whether or not a particular field will be useful by the time you graduate. Assuming you're in your 1st or 2nd year of college, by the time you get out into the workforce, the economy would have most likely recovered, insha'Allah.

Is not easy to find a job in a big factory like Aston Martin.
But job opportunities are not only in big factories. Like many success persons, you can start your career from small a engineering company or even from a car repair station. It will gives you a bigger chance if you want to move to the bigger company.

Or maybe you want to establish your own engineering company ?.

Brother, you must read stories of success persons for increase your motivation. In example story of Soichiro Honda.

^ Yeah reading success stories will get you motivated and competitive.

BTW if you can do some working experience. Could increase your chance of getting a job.

Do you have any specific areas that you would like to specialise into...for example automation?

Don't go for state of the art technologies...or industry for example robotic and etc...because when the economy is down these kind of industry will go down too...i mean really down. Try to go in an area like food or power...things that always in demand.
