If Allah loves us 70 times more than our own mother does...

does that mean Allah has feelings??

Does that mean if we do sin.. it hurts Allah?

You cannot put a limit to Allah by saying he loves you 70 times then your own mother, this is incorrect. It is sufficient for us to know that the mercy of Allah encompasses all things.

And no you cannot hurt Allah rather you only harm yourself by sinning and in turn you displease Him.

Allah knows best.

But being displeased is a feeling/emotion too ...

I think the only way we can even begin to grasp God is through our own human experience - I mean, how else can we imagine or describe anything. We know and understand nothing outside our own human perception.

We won't fully understand just how great/awesome/wonderful/loving/gracious/merciful God is until the day we meet him face to face. Until then we can only try to imagine ...

If you study the Names and Attribute of Allah (swt) you will find that He (swt) describes Him self with "emotions" and "attributes" that us human beings can understand with our limited minds-

eg. Allah Loves and humans love.
Allah becomes Angry and we become angry
Allah Forgives and we forgive.

Allah is Alive and we are alive...

But the unique difference between the Creator and the creation is that Allah's Names and Attributes and Complete and Perfect and have no limitations or dependaces and are not similar to His Creation in anyway.

eg. Allah's being Alive is not like out living because we are dependent on light, water, energy, heat, food etc and Allah is free from all dependence. Separate from His Creation and independent of them.

So same with the Love, Him Love is not like our love... ours is limited and His is Infinite.

In essence we can understand the meaning but not comprehend the magnificence of it.

To the thread starter.

Do not abuse the anon account as any abuse of the anon account will not be tolerated. You are not asking questions to scholars, you are asking questions to lay men who may or may not have an answer to your questions.

If you are unsatisfied with the answers that are given to you then do not draw the line on Islam because Islam is perfect. Rather turn to those people who may have the answer to your questions. This may require you to walk outside of your house to seek people of knowledge who you may not always find on forums. It is not Islam that has contradiction, it is your understand and the limited knowledge that you posses.

Above all, be patient!

once upon a time i read something, which maybe relevant to this:
Imam Abu Hanifah, may allah have mercy on him, in his book "al-Fiqh al-Akbar" says: All of His Attributes are different from those of created beings. He knows but it is not like out knowledge, He is ABle, but it is not like our ability and He sees but it is not like our seeing." Shar7 al-aqeedah at-Tahawiyyah
Taken from: The names and attributes of Allah, by sh. al-Ashqar.
