Now currently as i have started to move on in life and am married i feel really stressed and when i go college am just really moody and i dont really socialise with the other students. I am always feeling really down. Is there any dua's or surahs that i can read to help me. much apriated.

wa alaykum us-Salaam.
moved on? from what? your family? no such thing. i dont know if there is a dua, but what i do know is life is a hell lot easier when your parents are pleased with you. without that, believe me, the world is narrow and there is no barakah in anyhting. seen it too many times :-\

even if your family cut you, at least be on good terms with Allah, so to speak. dont compromise your aakhirah for anything. and definatley not something as grave as this.

i agree with Sis Umm-Al Shaheed. You may be internally upset about losing your family. If you suffered domestic violence at your brother's hands, can't you still have contact with the rest of your family. (sorry, didn't read ur previous thread - can you give a link?) Also why do you have to break contact with your family, will they harm you for leaving home?

You might want to talk to a councelor about your situation. They can help you see what it is that's bothering you. Usually when the problem comes to the surface you are better able to deal with it. Is there a councelor in your college that you can talk to?

Also read Quran with translation and listen to its recitation and do lots of dhikr which will give you peace of mind insha-Allah.

being away from your own mother will obviously depress anybody. why dont you get your mum inlaw to ring your mother and have a chat? sister have you tried all these things? and what about your husband? has he not made any effort to drive you down there and visit, nothing is going to happen with your husband by your side. all of you can sit and talk.

Sister if you are feeling down and depressed then you need to speak with your doctor sister. It is serious. You might have a mental illness that is affecting you. There are lots of illnesses with those symptoms. Don't let this drag on to the point that you have suicidal thoughts. You need to be healthy and in a good mood to sustain your marriage relationship. Depression hurts those around you and will affect your husband. So find a good muslim doctor in your city who can help you talk about your feelings and if needed provide medication for you to deal with it. I pray that Allah makes things easy for you. If you want to talk further with me then pm me. I am willing to listen and I know a lot about this. I would like to help.
