If it is direct from Amazon, then it's about the most reliable online shop in the world :p.

If it is from the Amazon marketplace, that is basically random people/companies selling their goods. So check their descriptions and feedback.
Amazon protects your money on their marketplace anyway.

For example look at this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Faces-Babys-...7862966&sr=8-1

You will see it says:
"In stock.
Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk. Gift-wrap available. "

If it says dispatched from another company than amazon, it is their marketplace.

Also the "21 new from £1.28 3 used from £1.31 " are all marketplace sellers. Not amazon direct.

If you wish to see the marketplace sellers feedback. Just click "new" or "used" and you can see all sellers and click their feedback ratings.

Unfortunately not. I use Amazon a LOT, and it's always been reliable.

I've recently switched over to eBay/Half.com for buying/selling textbooks though.

In my experience, Amazon is extremely reliable. Last week, I bought a case for my iPod touch. 3-5 days it said. It arrived in two.
