The Glorious Quran and Modern Science, Mansour, Hassab, El-Naby
I am trying to get hold of a copy of this book but it is no longer in print. Does anyone have a copy, or better still does anyone know where I can download an electronic version?

Thanks for the link. I'd seen it before. Actually I have seen a few different versions of this claim, each with a different explanation as to why the Cosine part of the formula is required. I wanted to use the original claim so that when I investigated it I investigated it I could assess the true claim and not some misguided understanding of it.
I think though that through a simple demonstration I was able to show that the Cosine part is erroneous regardless of what the alleged reason for its legitimacy.
