One day a man of the Ashab came to the caliph Ali Ibn Abi Talib(r.a.) and said to him complainingly:" Ya Ali, Why is there so much Fitna between the muslims in your khilafa, but there were not any Fitna in the Khilafa of Abu Bakr and Omar (r.a.)?

Ali(r.a.) answered:" In their time we were alive, but in our time they are not alive."
