Welcome to LI from a fellow brummie!

If those friends are no longer keeping in touch with you because you are practising your religion they are not real friends. Come to masjids for prayers and lectures and try to particpate in the sisters circles and you will find pious sisters whom can strength your imaan.
Inshallah May Allah ease your pain and hardships. Remember this a test. Inshallah you will succeed.
Dont give up your faith to please other people even if they are your family.

First all welcome to the forums and i hope u meet lots of good sisters n make lots of good friends and benefit InshahAllah

Know that u are doing the right thing , may Allah reward u , and give u more n more tawfeeq n give you the understanding of the deen , as in a hadeeth the Prphet States " Whome ever Allah wants to be good to , He gives him understanding of the deen"

May Allah increase u in His Love , Love of His prophet Sala lahu alihi wa sallam , Love of the thigs that drw us near to them , Love of the here after and an eternal life full of happiness n blessing , where sorrow n grieve n no problems what so ever will even touch you ,

Know that Allah is sufficent for you InshahAllah , n yes InshahAllah u are doing the right thing , n Who knows may be u will be the reason n cause for lots of ur previpous friends to come to the right path , By Allah sister the life of this world is not only too short , it is so temporary..

I will only quote a coyuple of verses from Surah Al hadid , which is a beautiful Surah

Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala Says

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment

Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allâh), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allâh and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allâh which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty.

And also as far as ur frineds n family go , i quote from the same Surah

Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allâh's Reminder (this Qur'ân), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before (i.e. Jews and Christians), and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).

and Also from the Surah Az Zumar , I hope the time comes for thems oon , The guidance from Allah n Light of righteousness comes soon

Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh, verily Allâh forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful[].

54. "And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islâm), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped.

55. "And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Qur'ân, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!"

56. Lest a person should say: "Alas, my grief that I was undutiful to Allâh (i.e. I have not done what Allâh has ordered me to do), and I was indeed among those who mocked

57. Or (lest) he should say: "If only Allâh had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2)."

58. Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: "If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the Muhsinûn (good-doers - see V.2:112)."

May Allah guide us all , i gotta run InshahAllah migt come back to give some advise

But im soo happy to know that Allah is guiding u , n also its sad to see what u are facing , InshahAllah keep ur head up and keep faith in Allah and keep asking Him more n more guidance n may Allah bless u.

I would suggest to make the Quran ur constant companion, after al its the words of our LOrd the Book of our lord

Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrated:

"'Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl used to press the Mushaf to his face and cry, saying: "The Book of my Lord! The Words of my Lord!""

Assalam O Alikum

thankyou- i find 1 particular verse f the quran is very important ot me( althought the whole of quran is very special) it is the part where Allahswt says something along these lines- when they ask of me tell them i am very close and when they call out to me tell them i hear them- i am closer then their jugular veins- i dont no which surah its form but i love this verse gives me comfort from time to time-

true this life is short but when a women comes to islam she has to change- when she changes it is for the husband to stand for her- if not him then the father of brother- i just feel like there is no one to protect me in a way- like when i go out im scared my hijaab might get tore off by youths etc- like a man has to be a safegurad for the women i feel like i havent got that nd feel like i cant observe it 100% becaus eof this-
i also have to be a father to my daughter and i fee like sometimes i cant do that since i changed my ways.

:sl: sister,

They are two separate ayaat of the Qur'aan, and I love them too!

The first is from Suratul Baqarah ayah 186 "And when My servants question you concerning Me, then surely I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls on Me. So let them hear My call and believe in Me so that they may be guided aright."

The second is from Surah Qaaf ayah 16 "And indeed We have created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein."

All praise be to Allah who guided you. Sister, you will have to be strong and pray to Allah and remember Him lots, especially in the absence of a mahram that sticks up for you. There are many reverts on this forum eg former Christians. Upon coming to Islam, they were completely new to the deen and had no Muslim mahrams at all. Sometimes, something might happen to someone with a protective mahram, but they happened to be out without them, or it happened despite the presence of the mahram. InshaAllah Allah will protect you. Also recite this du'aa daily in morning and evening:

Allahumma innee as-alukal-'Afwa wal 'AAafiyah, fid-dunya wal-aakhirah, Allahumma innee as-alukal-'Afwa wal 'AAafiyah fee deenee, wadunyaaya wa-ahlee, wamaalee, Allahummas-tur 'Aawraatee, wa-aamin raw'AAatee, Allahummah-fathnee min bayni yadayya, wamin khalfee, wa'Ainyameenee, wa 'An shimaalee, wa min fawqee, wa-a'Oothu bi 'Athamatika an ughtaala min tahtee.

Translation: "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this life and the next. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allah, veil my weaknesses and set at ease my dismay. O Allah, protect me from the front and from behind and on my right and on my left and from above, and I take refuge with You lest I be swallowed up by the earth." Ibn Maajah 2/332

May Allah help you, make your affairs easy for you, and guide your family. Ameen.

sister dont be scared of going to the masjid to particpate in events! walahi the people who usually come to sisters-cicles and other similar events are one of the most nicest humblest and thoughtful sisters. They will make you feel comfortable and there will be no need to worry about fitting in. Sisters are there like you to gain knowlege, increase their imaan and socialise with other sisters. I dont want to give you false information but the masjids i have been to and the sisters i have met are exactly how i described.
if you dont mind me asking which masjids do you usually go to?
and no im not new to islam although i started to practice it few years ago.
