View Full Version : Where to start?

:sl:
I haven't put out much effort in memorizing stuff. I don't know the dua Qunut. I can't do Ichihara because I don't know the dua for it. What I find the easiest to memorize are the Suras. Where should I start, suras or the needed stuff? You can do istihara if something is troubling you, or if you need answers? It doesn't have to be that you can't choose between the two options?

I feel like a bad Muslim. There is so much to learn and I really don't know where to start.

I want to learn the rituals, how to obtain khushoo, how to perform salah in the best way possible..

The other thing is that you have the "external world" always in a way: D
May be I do spend too much time in my deen and forget about my family: omg: I do.

I sometimes think I'll burn in fire. I mean, all deeds I have is the Salat, fasting,.. the rest, well, I am not committing any sins except that I argue over the internet and with my mother :D Just a little bit.
I hate school because it makes me laugh. And I don't like to laugh and smile!! Please don't question me. I'm so tired of that: hew
I can't cook. My mother keeps complaining about me.

Any advice?

Asalaamu Alaikum Wr Wb, my sister don't despair for shaythan is wanting to confuse you and mess with your head which will delay your progress. You are feeling inclined to come more into islam because Allah is wanting you to be closer to him. Subhanallah not many have that privelage so all you have to do is make effort and have full hope, trust, faith and reliance in Allah and he will do whatever is best for you in life.

Firstly you you should learn dua Qunut which i have provided for you in the link below called "The Translation of Salaat".

Then from there you should learn from the basics and then build your knowledge and the E book that i have provided for you below called "Islam Beliefs and Teachings" is the perfect way to begin as it covers all the basic beliefs and teachings of Islam and more in a very easy way as the author is brilliant and this is a very popoular book available in the shops but it is free for you to download and print. It also shows you the correct way to pray Salah as well as dua Qunoot etc.

I have also included a brilliant article on how to gain Khushu but know that it is not an overnight process but will take time and the closer you go towards Allah and the less sin you indulge you then the more khushu you will have in prayer.

Another very benefical link i have pasted below is the "daily Ibadah check" which is a new approach to monitoring ones good deeds every single day and then at the end of the day you can write down what ibadah you did the whole day and what you need to improve on for the next day so this way one can continuously better themselves every single day.

I have also included many other beneficial links including the dua for Isthikhara in my thread: "VERY Rewarding Nafl Salaahs we can Pray Everyday!" where you can learn to pray many other nafils too aswell as other threads which show you how we can increase our imaan and which zikr and good deeds we can do everyday to please Allah and get the closest to him.

Also included are links about the hereafter and the life and story of the holy Prophet of Allah Muhammed (Pbuh).

Spend time with your family too as maintaining good relations with ones family is very important and also great reward with the right intention. Islam is about striking a good balance so spend time with your family as well as on your deen.

Let us yearn to get the closest to Allah by pleasing him as much as we can. Always repent as much as you can in every dua for Allah loves those who repent and thank him abundantly for Allah gives more to those who are appreciative and thankful.

I hope inshallah you find these links beneficial. If you need anything else then we are here for you so never hesitate to ask.

I feel like a bad Muslim. There is so much to learn and I really don't know where to start.
Maybe you try to seek more knoweledge. Like maybe learn a new hadith everyday. Here's a website:) : http://myhadithoftheday.com/

I want to learn the rituals, how to obtain khushoo, how to perform salah in the best way possible..
I remember listening to a good lecture on khushoo, it'sHow to gain khushoo In Paryer. link:http://khutba.org/modules.php?name=D...=search&query=

The other thing is that you have the "external world" always in a way: D
May be I do spend too much time in my deen and forget about my family: omg: I do.
You shouldn't forget about your family. Try talking to your family more to get closer to them.:)

I sometimes think I'll burn in fire. I mean, all deeds I have is the Salat, fasting,.. the rest, well, I am not committing any sins except that I argue over the internet and with my mother :D Just a little bit.
We all make sins everyday. Try repenting to Allah and ask for forgiveness.

I hate school because it makes me laugh. And I don't like to laugh and smile!!
It's ok to smile! In fact it is sunnah to smile.:) Laughing once in a while is ok too, but laughing all the time deadens the heart. Quoted from IslamQA:
The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us against laughing too much, and told us of the danger it poses to the heart when he said: “Do not laugh too much, for laughing deadens the heart.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2305; Ibn Maajah, 4193.

I can't cook. My mother keeps complaining about me.
Maybe you could ask your if she could teach you how to cook?
