Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi says her sister has been arrested by the intelligence services, hours after opposition figures were detained.

In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said: "Britain will receive a punch on the mouth if it does not stop the nonsense."
Hahaha....

The Iranian Government is losing control, although you have to love the Iranian threats to Britain. Britain is almost as hated now in Iran as Israel and America. But obviously Britain is nothing more than a mere scapegoat for Iranian governments own policital problems.

^ I agree, the Iranian government is losing control and needs to do something about it. The media is not helping...

Im definitely not an expert of Persian issues, but from what I've read Iranian protesters do not fight for secular and liberal democracy, but rather for their own, islamic, iranian republic, just more just.

yes, you could say they want a somewhat more 'liberal' Islamic republic, which isnt as strict.

what many people dont seem to understand, is that ever since Islam came into Iran, Islam has been deeply integrated into the fabric of Iranian society. :) so when people say secularism is going to come full in into Iran and religion will be out, its hard to take them too seriously.

Britian is not a scapegoat at all, but is part of the problem alongside other western countries. Britian should not stick its nose in Iranian affairs, yet Britian constantly alongside other western countries keep opening their mouths about the situation condemning and attacking the Iranian government.

when the first claims of unproven voting fraud came out, it was Britian and USA among the first give such claims legitimacy.

furthermore Britians media is constantly writing pro-opposition articles, and spreading their propaganda, and you would have to be an idiot to not think that the media is not an arm of the government, the times of london recently got caught writing about a FABRICATED DOCUMENT concerning supposed iranian nuclear activity!

heck i just read an article from the times writing about how everyone was sensing the end was near for the government, just around the corner, and victory was imminent bla bla bla.

this is operation ajax part two, except this time britian and good ole USA will FAIL in their attmpts to overthrow another Iranian government.

All the British Government has done is talk, and not even talk with the Iranians, and yet the people in power seem to think their establishment is so weak, it's being rocked by what a politician is saying on another country's news bulletin.
