asalaamu alaikom...

Im a young man, between the ages of 17-20 and i want to seek knowledge by attending classes of arabic and tajweed firstly but the thing that stops me is the way i look. I hate going out of my house because i am truly and honestly not a good sight to see, i sometimes wished i just looked normal.. not even handsome just normal so i could easily get around places but i know wishing isn't going to change anything about my physical features. I tell myself that my body is just a tool of worship and it will be dust but i can't think logically, The reason i type here is just to gain some advice and vent my concerns, jazakalllahu-khair for reading.

Well brother ,

Its a body given to us by Allah. We should learn to respect our body and live with it.Forget what somebody thinks about you. You need to think about yourselves better :). I mean i have seen videos on discovery where women with nose cut braves to win a case against her husband in pakistan. If a women can win against such odds with a deformed face why can't we be satisfied with what we have.

I know its difficult bro, but please be patient and concentrate on imaan and career. Leave the rest to God :)

wa alaykum us-Salaam,
why should seeking knowledge be dependent on how one looks.

Moreover, I would like to add, knowledge and wisdom which you will earn shall camouflage your physical apprearance. Think, Bilal Habshi Radhi Allaho Anho was black but were respected.

You can find many characters in history who were not physically very handsome but they earned a distinguished name in history.

Asalaamu Alaikum Wr Wb,

Reported by Imam Ahmad from Anas (radhiallahu `anhu):

There was a man from the desert people whose name was Zahir. He used to bring gifts from the desert to the Prophet pbuh, and in return the Prophet pbuh would provide him with whatever he needed when he went out to fight. The Prophet pbuh said, "Zahir is our man of the desert, and we are his town-dwellers." The Prophet pbuh loved him very much, and he (Zahir) thought he was ugly. One day the Prophet pbuh came to him whilst he was selling some goods. He embraced him from behind. The man could not see him, so he said, "Let me go! Who is this?" Then he turned around and recognized the Prophet pbuh, so he tried to move closer to him once he knew who it was. The Prophet pbuh started to say, "Who will buy this slave?" Zahir said, "O Messenger of Allah (pbuh), you will find me unsellable." The Prophet pbuh said, "But in the sight of Allah (almighty) you are not unsellable," or he said, "But in the sight of Allah (almighty) you are valuable."

So if you are valuable in the sight of Allah who cares what the world thinks? Allah does not look at your face, he looks into your heart. Allah created you and to him your beautiful! So why do you care what others think?

Do the best you can in this one life that you have my brother and strive to be the closest to Allah!

This world is but a few hours so why should it concern us? The hereafter should concern us because that is our ultimate destination.

In the hereafter you will regret the time you wasted because you were ashamed of your appearance. You will look back and think why was i ashamed? I should have made the best use of every second and concentrated on what is most important! So my brother don't regret it but take action now!

Be happy that Allah is given you what you have because most have not got what you have! Some have'nt got limbs and some have debilitating diseases! We should continuously thank Allah and strive to be the closest to him by doing as much good action as possible.

Our time in this world can end ANY second and we will awaken from this dream! So my brother the least of our worrys should be anything else but that we concentrate on NOW and making the best use of every second of our life before it is over!

So go to as many classes as possible and learn the Qur'an with perfect tajweed and make intention to learn it by heart! Learn as much knolwedge as possible and strive to be the closest to Allah by doing as many nafil and good deeds as you can and know that the closest to Allah are the most precious, valuable and most beautiful in his eyes and is'nt what he thinks more important than anyone else?

This is the beginning of a new change in thinking for you my brother and a change in your state of mind. Allah made you inclined to come in here so that you can read all of this and realise that what anyone else thinks or percieves matters not but shaythan is just trying to delay and hinder your progress and he wants to stop you from going closer to Allah but will you let him?

My brother there is no time to waste. Go towards your lord who wants you the closest to him and strive to make the best of every second by obeying all the commands of Allah and remembering and glorifying him night and day!

Shaitan works on us all differently, don't let him trick you. Nobody will refuse you for educating yourself in deen based on your looks, what you believe you don't have in looks make it up in knowledge and when it comes to looks vs knowledge in deen theres only on winner. Dont quit bro, look for inspiration in the stories of the prophets (as) sahaba(ra).

May Allah answer your duas and make you succeed.

Says Allah: “Let not some people mock at other people, for they may be better than themselves, nor (let) women (mock) at women who may better than themselves.” (Al-Hujurat: 11)

In the scale of Allah, goodness is measured by faith, sincerity, and the quality of the relationship with Allah, not by physical appearance, wealth, or power. Said the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Allah does not look at your physical features or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.” (Reported by Muslim)

How, then, can it be permissible for a person to laugh at someone’s physical handicap, deformity, or poverty? It is reported that `Abdullah ibn Mas`ud had thin, weak legs. Once, upon seeing his leg uncovered, some people laughed, whereupon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Are you laughing at the frailty of his legs? By Him in Whose hand is my soul, in the scale of Allah they are weightier than Mount Uhud.” (Reported by at-Tayalisi and Ahmad)”

Aslaamu alaaykum...
I know brother how it feels to look the way you wish to looked but you dont.. but if you think about it in the postive way, the good looking people also have hardship too :D..They`re no perfect to you bro or me and everyone else, for example, lets put our selves in position of the poor , your really thirsty you want water, you will think about the rich wont you or water? but thats not going to do no good to you is it? but Asking Allaah the ALlmighty Indeed he is the most Kind and the most mercyful and graceful to us!.. Lets forget about what people think of you , and the way you look, lets focus only on the way Allaah thinks of you, are you doing enough to make him think good of you? Insha`Allaah i hope you understood the point i was trying to make lol, When you do something for the sake of Allaah , you dont care about what people think of you, lets keep our self doing stuff to Please Allaah Only, and surely this is what will please you to Brother..Insha`Allaah

(Sahih Muslim : Book 32, Number 6220)

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira (Radi Allah
Anhu) with some addition (and it is this):
"Verily Allah does not look to your bodies nor to your faces but He looks to
your hearts,"
And he pointed towards the heart with his fingers.

( Sahih Muslim : Book 32, Number 6221)

Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu) reported Allah's Messenger
(sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) as saying: "Verily Allah does not look to your
faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds."
