Dear brothers and sisters, for a couple of weeks now I feel like I am mentally isolated. I don't think I live in reality anymore, and that I am getting stupider y the second. Reality is very painful for me, so I try to escape to my fantasy world. I feel confused about many things, things that I used to find normal. Now, I don't feel like a human being any more, everything confuses me, because my intelligence is decreasing rapidly, i don't feel like a human being anymopre. Could you please make a dua for me ?

Wa alaykum salam,

What confuses you sister? What is it that makes you think your intelligence is decreasing?

You should strive to be strong mentally and have the belief that you will always triumph in everything, because Allah will always be there for you.

InshaAllah whatever it is that is bothering you gets sorted soon.

Oh sister I'm sad to hear about that.
Can I suggest reading Qu'ran? or even listen to Qu'ran recitation? I know when I'm very frusterated, I listen to Qu'ran recitation and alhamdulillah it makes me feel better. :)
May Allah make things easy for you.

Sister if you can give us the reason may be we can help ( if its not personal). And if you want to stop getting depressed go to some relatives or friends house. Stop staying at the room all the time.

And ofcourse it is very calming to listen to Quran.Listen to some beautiful recitations.

You should see a neurologist for that, but of course after getting a recommendation from your family physician.

Do see a neurologist , but dont worry too much , it happens at the start of univ when too much of pressure is on you. give a break to yourselves. And most of all stop thinking your brain is getting smaller.Human brain never looses its power to store information :).

Don't worry.

Everyone goes through moments like yours--especially when young like you. It's a sign that your (mental/physical) environment is changing around you and you are being asked to catch up. And you will catch up. All your peers are going through the same thing in one way or another and at one time or another. The memory deficit is part of your disorientation as you look around for a new footing. Just with good faith maintain engagement with your life and don't shy away from things that seem difficult, scary, disheartening. Plow through and ask questions where you need to. You'll get good at everything again.... Until the next learning curve!

Maybe the stress of university is causing you some problems. Has something happend suddenly at uni? Maybe you are putting extra pressure on yourself unknowingly, I did that alot at uni :(

Sister, you should go talk to someone at uni or go see your doctor, if it's stress related they can help you :)

Asalaamu Alaikum Wr Wb, my sister i think your at the stage of your life where your still trying to find yourself and define who you are. You think too much and go too deeply into your thoughts.

After much advice that we have given you over the past few weeks i would say sister that it is time you seek help from a professional.

You must see a doctor and psychologist/counsellor immediatley otherwise it may get worse. They would give you the best advice sister and the professional help you need.

I would advise you to see your doctor first and see what the doctor says and if the need arises then the doctor may refer you to a psyhcologist or counsellor whatever the doctor sees as best for you. Inshallah in no time you will be fine.

Meanwhile continue with your Salah and pray Nawafil aswell. Also Recite the Qur'an, do dhikrullah constantly and make dua to Allah as much as you can and you will have the help of Allah!

I agree with this post so much!!
I was going to say the same thing. Sister, why don't you research many different interests until you find one that you can stick with and learn to mastery! Nothing is better at building confidence and mental clarity then studying something you love.
Make a list of every little think you like
Go through the list one by one and try to pick a few to focus on
When you do enough test and research you will find your passion that makes you feel smart again

May Allah help you. Ameen

There could be different reasons behind, insufficient data for correct diagnosis.

It can be due to overloading your brain, when you are trying to keep too much unsettled information in the mind.
I experienced this with software development, when quickly making a big complicated prototype project without proper architecture, too many things have to keep in mind.
If your case is somewhat similar, solution is only to drop whatever you are doing, try to delegate to others, write down most important things or simply abandon it.
Then get yourself distracted with something emotional, to make those things non-important, it may take few days or weeks to recover.
