David Cameron Tells Tories He Can Turn Britain Around

Conservative leader David Cameron has said he has "got what it takes to turn this country around", in his party's final get-together before the election.

He told the spring conference he was more confident every day and it was his "patriotic duty" to beat Gordon Brown.

But, after one opinion poll suggested the Conservatives' lead had narrowed to two points, Mr Cameron acknowledged his party faced a "real fight".

Labour said voters would find the speech "wanting" for substance.

The Conservatives have outlined six key election campaigning areas: dealing with the deficit; boosting enterprise; shoring up families; backing the NHS; raising standards in schools; and cleaning up politics.

'Roll up our sleeves'

Mr Cameron, speaking without notes at the conference in Brighton, said: "They don't hand general election victories on a plate to people in this country and quite right too."

Can someone please shut this posh fool up before he dilludes people into voting him into being Prime Minister?

lol, this guy is a good politician, he hardly ever talks about what hes actually going to do when he gets into office, all he does is play the brown card, since he knows that many people are angry at labour, he just uses that against them, which is smart politics, he just works with the negativity against labour.

And so on and so forth.

He's a terrible politician, and he would make for a terrible Prime Minister. He reminds me of a weaker, stupider and posher Tony Blair.

Have Labour honestly done anything more? I'm no fan of either the Tories or Labour but their political 'speeches' of late are getting as bare and as empty as Sarah Palin's blithering in the USA, It has to be one of the most dumbfounded and empty election campaigns I have ever seen.

Not a single mainstream political party in the UK has any ideological merit.
