Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi RajeAAoon.

This is story has now been published in all sources. However some may have went into that which we shouldn't go through for a man who died today. Just as a reminder to all muslim brothers and sisters of what our prophet Mohammad -s.a.a.w.- commanded us: "Mention the good of your dead, and hold from mentioning their sins" (Authenticated by Al-Hakem)

"Egyptian religious leader Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawi, the head of al Azhar, has died during a visit to Saudi Arabia, Al Jazeera television reported on Wednesday. Ahmed Ibrahim, director general of information in the office of Shiekh al-Azhar said "the Sheikh of Al Azhar (82 years) was heading to Saudi Arabia to attend the ceremony of awarding the King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam."

Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'oon.

I echo the Du'a made by Sheikh Abu Eesa Niamatullah.
May Allah jalla wa ‘ala have mercy upon him, forgive him his sins, enter him into His Paradise, and replace him with better for the Egyptian nation.
Ameen.

Ameen!

Who knows which of his deeds got him accepted and he was buried in Jannatul Baqee'. No one can predict in which state (of Iman) we will die. May Allah let us die in the best state of Iman.
Wa ma tadri nafsum-bi ayyi ardhin tamoot Nor does any one know in what land he is to die [31:34]

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'oon.

^That's so true. He is really fortunate to be buried in Baqee'. May Allah forgive him, save him from the punishment of the grave and grant him Jannatul Firdaws. May Allah give us all a good death and may our last words be the shahaadah. Ameen.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon, may Allah forgive him and grant him paradise.

Deleted post removed from quote. I've left the following as a reminder to us all, inshaa'Allah.

SubhanAllah, how people can forget all the good that ever came from a person so instantaneously. Whatever he has done, he was a muslim, our brother, and I think a muslim (and even nonmuslims) deserve more respect than this when they have passed away.
May Allah forgive us all. When we die, I hope people remember the good in us, rather than dwell on our shortcomings.
