1- Scientific Absurdities in the bible :

Proverbs 6:6-8, ants have no commander, no ruler and no overseer! This is absurdly false, because ants live in colonies and ranks of rulership and authority. And they have a queen.

Compare this falsehood to the Holy Quran's Scientific Miracle about the ants ranks and 4 layers of communications which scientists today have recently confirmed: Ants do indeed talk to each others as the Holy Quran Stated!

Leviticus 11:20-23, "All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you." No insect with four legs exists. Insects have six legs and six feet.

Leviticus 11:6 "The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you." Rabbits, are lagomorphs, not ruminants; they do not chew the cud.

The earth is flat, has four corners, is standing on pillars that prevent it from shaking, and is immovable. (1 Samuel 2:8, Job 9:6, Job 38:4, Isaiah 11:12, Revelation 7:1, Job 38:13, Jeremiah 16:19, Daniel 4:11, Psalm 93:1-3, Psalm 96:10, Psalm 104:5, 1 Chronicles 16:30, Matthew 4:8) Earth is spherical

Daniel 4:10-11 declares the earth is flat, "10 These are the visions I saw while lying in my bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth."

Matthew 13:31-32 "He (Jesus) told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds,"
The mustard seed is not the smallest of all seeds. Others, such as the orchid seed, are smaller.

Mark 16:18 "they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Christians so bothered by the falsehood of this verse due to the many fatalities they suffered because of it, that the Bible theologians insist on denying these verses by saying: "The most reliable early manuscript and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20."

John 12:24 "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." That is scientifically false. The dead seed does not produce new seeds.

Genesis 1:16, GOD Almighty created two lamps, the sun and the moon, each giving an independent light to earth. The Hebrew says "two lamps", meaning each giving off its independent light. Visit: http://biblelexicon.org/genesis/1-16.htm.

Leviticus 12:2-5, a female causes double the pollution when she's born than that of a boy. The mother remains unclean for 66 days after birth of a female instead of 33 days if she gives birth to a male.

And The Bible Declares:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God." (2 Timothy 3:16)

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless...." (2 Samuel 22:31)

"And the words of the LORD are flawless...." (Psalm 12:6)

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless...." (Psalm 18:30)

"Every word of God is flawless...." (Proverbs 30:5)

UNSCIENTIFIC CLAIMS from Hindu scriptures

Brahmins always have a tendency to claim everything in the name of SCIENCE. But the Scientists, Doctors and Specialists claim otherwise. First of all any man with common sense won’t agree to the claims originated by these BRAHMINS. Here are a few examples of Brahmin-originated unscientific claims (and the true knowledge of “the gods”):

(A) THE EARTH IS FLATNARASINGA PURANA - Page 169 - Abithana Sinthamani - says that the earth is flat. Today it has been proved beyond doubt by the scientists that the earth is round.

(B) DISTANCE BETWEEN EARTH, SUN & MOON

VISHNU PURANA says that sun is 800,000 miles and moon is 2,200,000 miles away from the earth respectively. Astronomy has now proved that the moon is nearer to the earth, i.e. 240,000 miles and that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth.

(C) THE AREA OF THE EARTH
MARKANDEYA PURANA says that the earth has an area of 4,000,000,000 square miles. According to astronomy, it is only 190,700,000 square miles.

(D) VIBOOTHI (COW DUNG ASH)

The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue. Even today ignorant Hindus smear their homes with cow dung.
In India people are dying of hunger. Why are these low caste Hindus prohibited from eating beef? In India cow meat is cheaper than other available meats. Instead of these Brahmins taking care of the low caste peoples of India they are doing their best to save their “holy” cows. According to Valmith’s Ramayana, God Rama “ATE” meat. Why then have these Brahmins given up beef-eating?

(E) URINE DRINKING
One erstwhile Prime Minister, Morarji Desai (Brahmin), boasted that he was drinking eight ounces of his own urine daily (pure and fresh!) in the morning in accordance with the Vedas claim that urine has medicinal value. With the same claim today the Brahmins/RSS are drinking cow’s urine as if it is a DAILY TONIC. No scientists have ever claimed that urine has any medicinal value. On the contrary it is well known fact that urine is an unwanted organic substance that the human body needs to discharge. [Editor’s note: This is just plain common sense!!!]

(F) SUN WORSHIP
The Vedas and Puranas say that all Hindus must pray to the sun god SURYA, and that if you look at the sun daily every morning with your naked eyes, your sight will improve. Accordingly many Hindus practise this act of worship; but instead of their eyesight improving, India is the country that has the most blind people in the world (2.5 million blind people and 9 million with corneal blindness).
There is no scientific truth in sun worship, and on the contrary the scientist and doctors advise everyone not to look at the sun directly with the naked eye. Who is telling us the truth, the Scientists or the Hindu scriptures? You be the judge! The credit of India’s blindness also goes to Hinduism.
Also scientist have predicted that Sun is losing Mass at an incredible rate and will one day be extinguished , thus sun is not eternal

(G) THE RIVER GANGES
Hindus are dumping half-cremated bodies, and the ashes of these corpses, into River Ganges for their salvation as ordered by the Hindu scriptures. In other words, the Holy Ganges water is a human soup! This has made the Ganges water polluted and a breeding ground for numerous diseases.
Question: Is there anything similar to this water in America?
Answer: Yes there is! It is called raw sewage. And common sense tells one that sewage is not to be swam in, drank, nor utilized in sacred activity.
Still these Brahmins claim the River Ganges a sacred river - saying that nothing can contaminate it. Why then is the Government of India spending millions of rupees to clean up the dirty waters of River Ganges?

(H) THE THREAT OF THE ECOLOGY
AP News (India) dated 10-1 1-86 says: When a Hindu is cremated in India, one or more medium-sized trees are also chopped down to accompany him on the funeral pyre. Ecologists warn that forest loss seriously threatens the environment and that we have already lost 32 % of the Indian forest. Daily in India, Hindus are dying and taking with them trees. A staggering 6.43 million kilograms of timber goes up in flames each day. The annual loss is 2.35 million tons. How much pollution does a body create when it is burnt with wood? (Not only that, imagine the foul smell it causes in the atmosphere.)

“The most absurd stories of their gods are readily believed… This hurrying from one means of salvation to another can be accounted for partly by the fear that though an act of merit may have satisfied the claims of one deity, others who have not been pacified may wreck their vengeance upon them.
Interested and unscrupulous priests make capital out of the gross ignorance and credulity of the people…. Shrine after shrine is visited and word after word is done; and yet the fear remains that some deity has been neglected who at any moment may demand his rights, or punish for neglect….. There are so many deities, and are so different in character, that almost any habit can be different in, almost any vice committed, under the impression that it is pleasing to one or another.” (W.J. Wilkins Modern Hinduism)

Regarding the urine one, Camel's urine has therapeutic value and comes from Prophetic medicine.

Here's a list that someone made of supposed historical and scientific fallacies in the Quran. He did the same thing with the Bible and other books.

That link should be taken with a very large grain of salt as everything has been debunked here

Perhaps sites like this should be taken with a grain of salt, but I don't think are anymore. In my country, the number of people who label themselves as non-religious grows every year. I think we need to have good explanations ready when an atheist asks us to defend anything in our religious book, especially the ones that seem to contradict knowledge revealed to us by the scientific method. Like these three:

The heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them. 21:30

Is not He (best) Who made the earth a fixed abode, and placed rivers in the folds thereof, and placed firm hills therein, and hath set a barrier between the two seas ? Is there any God beside Allah ? Nay, but most of them know not! 27:61

And the earth have We spread out. 50:7

My point is that if you are going to be pointing out scientific mistakes in the Bible and Hindu scriptures, you should make sure that there are none in your own Book. Any method used to fit those verses in the Quran that don't seem to fit with modern scientific knowledge can also be used by the Christians and Hindus.

If we don't want non-Muslims talking bad about our Qur'an, don't ever talking bad about other religions Holly Books.

Tell us how those three verses contradict latest scientific knowledge?
For in fact, those verses confirm that the Qur'an is the truth because there is no way anyone 1400 years ago knew about those facts.

Don't you worry about the christians and the hindus. They have in fact tried that, and failed spectacularly.

Those who do not want to accept the truth will always try to reject it, no matter how silly they have become.

My original thinking was that this verse contradicted how we know the planets formed by gravity, from "many pieces" into one piece. But then I thought about it more and realized that perhaps the one piece was refering to the singularity that started our universe. So I will concede the point on this one.

This verse seems to suggest that the earth is fixed in space. And, maybe I am ready it wrong, does it also seem to say that there is only one big continent on the earth?

And the earth have We spread out. 50:7

You don't "spread out" a sphere; you shape it. This verse seems like it is teaching that the world is flat.

Before we continue with this I would like to clarify one point. Even though many of you would disagree with me, I consider myself to be a Muslim. If you will notice in my first post I said these were supposedfallacies. The part that may seem odd to many of you is that I also consider myself a Christian and a Hindu, and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Here's my advice to you: Whenever you copy and paste from anti-islamic sources, make sure you check again if what they wrote is true.
It is bad enough that people change and twist the meanings of the Qur'an verses, but it is completely ridiculous that they even cut and deleted words from a verse and then use it in a debate.
It wastes everyone's time.

Now that aside, let's examine your contention with the "scientific" verses,

But then I thought about it more and realized that perhaps the one piece was refering to the singularity that started our universe. So I will concede the point on this one.

Here's the complete verse:

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?

At least two very important facts are contained in this verse:
- that in the beginning the universe (heavens and earth) was a singularity. The current theory of Big Bang confirms this verse.
- all living thing on earth are made from water. You ask any biologist and they'll tell you that no living being can survive without any form of water for extended period. Even exobiologists are trying to find tell tale of water in extra solar planets when looking for extraterrestrial living beings.
How did anyone 1400 years ago know about those facts, if by accusation from some, the holy Qur'an was made up by prophet Muhammad SAW?

Will you not then believe?

Is not He (best) Who made the earth a fixed abode, and placed rivers in the folds thereof, and placed firm hills therein, and hath set a barrier between the two seas ? Is there any God beside Allah ? Nay, but most of them know not! 27:61

This verse seems to suggest that the earth is fixed in space. And, maybe I am ready it wrong, does it also seem to say that there is only one big continent on the earth?
Here's the complete verse:

Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but most of them do not know.

I don't know how you can infer from it that the earth is fixed in space. Fixed abode does not suggest that planet earth is stationary! It merely states that the surface of the earth, as perceived by living creatures, is firm and stable, and therefore, habitable.
It is also interesting you chose not to discuss the latter part of the verse where it clearly mentions barriers between two seas.

One of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur'an as follows:

He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through. (Qur'an, 55:19-20)

This property of the seas, that is, that they meet and yet do not intermix, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called "surface tension," the waters of neighbouring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.

It is interesting that, during a period when there was little knowledge of physics, and of surface tension, or oceanography, this truth was revealed in the Qur'an.

And the earth have We spread out. 50:7

You don't "spread out" a sphere; you shape it. This verse seems like it is teaching that the world is flat.
Here's the complete verse:

And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind,

Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And the earth (wa’l-arda, is a supplement to the position of the words ilā l-samā’i, ‘at the heaven’), how, We have spread it out, [how] We have rolled it across the face of the water, and cast in it firm mountains, to fix it in place, and caused every delightful kind, [every delightful] specimen, causing delight by its [very] beauty, to grow in it,

Latest geological study explains that hundreds of millions years ago earth surface consisted of one big continent plate called pangea who sit on unstable crust, which then slowly broke apart and spread out to become the continents we live in. The mountains were created when the continental plates collided and vast area are lifted up and much of compressed rock forced downward to becom " mountain roots"which in turn stablized the plates. Again, the latest scientific discover confirms the verse.

As you seem to be familiar with those anti-islam websites, I am sure you must also know that there several verses in the Qur'an that mention earth being sphere, egg-shaped, having orbits. Should I copy paste from those websites just as you did?

Oh why did I even bother...

The Pope thinks he is God's representative on earth and he doesn't see anything wrong with that.

I don't believe in the institution of the pope because I don't think there are enough verses in the Bible to justify it; just like I don't believe in the violence against homosexuals, genocide, or sexism in the Bible.

But what you just did with those verses from the Quran, the way showed they were not in fact contradicitons, I have seen many Christian and Hindus do the same thing. It is all a matter of how you interpret and translate them.
