Nude Pictures of Bruni Sarkozy, Wife of French President Nicholas Sarkozy on an Aunction

The president of France Nicholas Sarkozy, who is working hard to preserve the dignity of women by banning burqa, has in fact lost his face when his wife’s nude pictures were sold in an aunction for a mere $91,000.

Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni (now officially Carla Bruni-Sarkozy), who married in February, were greeted by the Prince of Wales and by the Duchess of Cornwall after the presidential plane landed in London Wednesday.

The French president’s schedule included a full state banquet at Windsor Castle on Wednesday night, where he is staying as the guest of the queen.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sarkozy addressed both British Houses of Parliament in French and discussed many important matters of state.
But away from the politics, Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife was attracting as much, if not more, attention than her husband during the two-day visit.
The famous auction house Christie’s is to sell nude photographs of former model Bruni-Sarkozy, taken by Michel Comte in 1993, in New York next month.

“I have other nude photographs of Carla far more explicit, but I would never sell them,” Swiss photographer Michel Comte was quoted as saying in the daily Le Matin.

Mr Nicholas Sarkozy is said to have “no issue” with tastefully revealing images of his wife being made public.

A source at the Elysee Palace told France’s Le Post news website: He has made it clear he has no problem with this because he knows that the only images of his wife in existence are tasteful. “Some may be nude, but she is a beautiful woman who was a model and only ever posed for pictures that had artistic merit” said Nicholas Sarkozy.

Umar Shariff, who runs an educational trust known as DIET in Bangalore, when asked about the Burqa Ban in France replied instantly – “How can a man (Nicholas Sarkozy) who sells his wife’s nude pictures on the streets know the true level of modesty which Islam enjoins on dignified women?” “True dignity of a woman is preserved when she dresses up like Mary, the mother of Jesus. We Muslims are those who live by the commandments of God” he added.

Imran Ali, another Muslim who runs a public charitable trust by thename PPC in India, commented cynically saying “This does not really surprise me since a person who is eager to see others wives, daughters, sisters etc (by banning Hijab), would of course invite others to check out his wife.”

Comments:

1. I endorse the views of Brother Umar Shariff, you cannot expect otherwise from some one who wants the world to see his nude wife. For him this is emancipation of women, for us it is exploiting her dignity.

2. If Sarkozy says, the nude images of his wife are “tasteful” and have “artistic merit” I can only say ” God save France .”

How nudity can be more taboo than violence in our modern society has always escaped me.

If Sarko can't control his house, how can you ask him to rule a big country like France. God help him <_<

Something seems amiss here. Didn't this actually happen in 2008? Why is the story dated 2010?
I would also be suspicious of any article with spelling mistakes. What is an "Aunction"? and his name is spelt "Nicolas", not "Nicholas".

Edit: Here is the actual story from theinsider.com (dated March 2008): http://www.theinsider.com/news/76239...kozy_s_UK_Trip

Stop the misinformation.

The story was posted on the site in 2010 and thus the date. Should've provided a link for a simpleton like you who likes to accuse others of misinformation right of the back.

http://peacetimes.net/2010/03/nude-p...n-an-aunction/

Just because some asian site makes more spelling mistakes than the west doesn't make the story any less credible or "suspicious".

Regardless of the print date or posted date or what not, the story in itself is of news worthy showing a dog proud of public buying his wife's nude photos. No wonder he wants hijab banned. Well i guess if he doesn't get elected this year, he can go into business of welling more nude pics of his wife to make a living.

Whatever possessed you to think that creating a thread with regards to his wife's modelling career has anything to do with Islam?

Yeah .. maybe you're right brother. This news have nothing to do with Islam.
But, it's ok for muslims, or for christians,( or for anyone) to discuss any information about today's news, and to express his opinion. Muslims are not just praying and sleeping, they can think about politics or anything else, besides there is many muslims in France who have the right to criticise the french government when it is not competent.
And if we call to mind the hijab banning decision, this Nude wife pictures can make some sense in a muslim forum, I think :hmm:

Simpleton? Can you tell me how anyone would know that the story was not from 2010? Is there any line in the story or the notes which indicates it is 2 years old?

Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni (now officially Carla Bruni-Sarkozy), who married in February, were greeted by the Prince of Wales and by the Duchess of Cornwall after the presidential plane landed in London Wednesday.
Last Wednesday? Last month? Last year? How do we know when this was?

I called it misinformation because at the end of the article it says "Source:theInsider.com". This indicates the story is an exact copy of the one at that site. It is not. The story has been taken from that site and comments added before and after the story (you can tell its a mix without reading the original because there are spelling errors only at the beginning and end). There should be a proper citation and author details, stating which parts belong to who.
Ironically theInsider.com copied the article from elsewhere (and referenced it correctly).

I think you are missing the main point of the thread. Frence President has no problem when women sell thier bodies for money and publicity . But he has problem when Muslim Women want to cover . Is not it pathetic ?

(in addition to what others said), not to mention "model" is just another nice word for PORN! Just because it didn't show up in playboy doesn't make it any less indecent and explains why the pervert dog is trying to strip other women down like his own shameless wife.

the pic of that poor flat chested woman is circulating now for a good political reason, the same way bin laden seems to rise from the dead in his usamabocave to make tapes to threaten and rile the U.S whenever folks tire of the whole war agenda..

it is quite relevant.. the man is shamed by having every tom, dick and harry look at his flat chested woman so in turn he wants to ensure that every woman is equally naked in show of solidarity...

It is amusing.. even more amusing how progress almost always equates with nakedness and descent to monkiness until comes the day when folks copulate like donkeys on the streets, if they don't already do so!

She has said she is easily "bored with monogamy", and that "love lasts a long time, but burning desire — two to three weeks". STUPID LADY....

"modern society" as in today's world.

That nudity could be more taboo than violence makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but it appears to be the case.

why you feel the need to repeat yourself twice not only escapes but makes no sense to us either, also considering this post is about nudity not about violence.. if you want to discuss violence why not make a separate thread?
Besides no one gives a fig about that flat chested has-been.. this is about imposing this brand of nudity on folks who have no desire for it.. pls try to focus so that every thread isn't deflected to some side door leading to a completely other subject merely for lack of ability to deal with this current one!

Why don't you go back and read the whole thread, you'll find the same answer to the same question a few posts back. If the stripping of muslim women to be naked like this guy's wife to be "equal" in france isn't current situation of the ummah for you then i suggest you visit the deen section and focus on your islam building instead.

Perhaps you should give yourself a break from your constant trolling. Zafran asked me to clarify so I did.

BTW "this brand of nudity" isn't being imposed on anybody. Its an auction. You don't have to go.

Could you expand on this? How were they viewed in the past? And how does that make the current taboos and the one outweighing the other make sense?

Its simple if we look at why Nudity is taboo in western civ - its because of the christian past - Violence on the other hand has been treated very differently eg wars. Other cultures/ socities have similar histories.

I had no idea clarifying yourself meant repeating yourself twice by digressing the topic into another subject all together!

We are not talking about the auction, we are talking about banning of religious wear to accommodate a degenerate animal like life-style where only atheists feel right at home!
Perhaps the problem is in the way you process information!
