Sajid Ahmed Umar Profile Details


Sheikh
Sajid was born in Leicester, UK. He attended primary, secondary and
college in Harare, where he studied IT and obtained a first class
degree. Having memorized the Quran at the age of eighteen he turned his
attention towards Islamic studies. As a result, he then went to Riyadh
where he enrolled at al Imam Muhammed Ibn Saud Islamic University and
studied Arabic language and Islamic Sciences in a 3 year intensive
programme, where he completed a university diploma in Arabic language
and Islamic Sciences. He continued his studies at Ibn Saud Islamic
University where he is currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree
programme in the Faculty of Shariah specialising in Comparative Islamic
law and Jurisprudence Methodology.


He
has spent much of his semester breaks teaching various Islamic programs
for the youth and adults in Saudi Arabia, UK , South Africa, Malawi and
Zimbabwe. These classes ranged from lectures in mosques, on radio, TV
and online services. He has also spent time working on syllabus and
curriculums for use in Islamic schools based in the West. He is an
imaam and khateeb of the largest mosque in Zimbabwe and is part of the
staff at Knowledge International University. His hobbies include
building computers to customer specs, book collecting and reading.
Sajid is married, has a brown belt in karate, is a keen golfer,
swimmer, footballer and cricketer, and has completed over 15 articles
and 5 dissertations related to Islamic Sciences.
