Please post it, or a link for the large ones. This is another way for me to become familiar with the Qur'an. Thank you! Mine is Al-Hadid. I read it tonight on my work break and it is beautiful!

My Favourite has to be Surât Al-Mu'minûn but there are other Surah's that I like as well..

Surât Al-Mu'minûn Ayah 17 - 21:

17. And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation.

18. And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away.

19. Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat.

20. And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters.

21. And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat.

Right on! You are absolutely correct. That is the reason I like this surah. Specially the aayah:

wa ithaa ra'aita thamma ra'aita na'eeman wa mulkan kabeera (76:20)

"And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion."

You cannot help but feel the insignificance of this dunya.

Surah Az-Zumar. A beautiful surah with so much information. Plus the thing is, it's very clear. Very.

(you can listen and follow with the interpretation and meaning there.)

I love reciting Surah al-Fajr. It showed how selfish and unthankful a human can be to his Lord. SubhanAllah, what an attachment we can have to this world...

89:15. As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and bounties, then he says (in): "My Lord has honoured me."
89:16. But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!"
89:17. Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)!
89:18. And urge not one another on the feeding of AlMiskîn (the poor)!
89:19. And you devour inheritance all with greed,
89:20. And you love wealth with much love!
89:21. Nay! When the earth is ground to powder,
89:22. And your Lord comes with the angels in rows,
89:23. And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him

I also love that Surah, especially the way it begins. But it's hard to pick out a favourite!

See if this link works - it's a nice recitation of the surah: http://ia331340.us.archive.org/2/ite...Hadid_64kb.mp3

Btw, we also have a thread for people's favourite recitations: http://www.islamicboard.com/islamic-...citations.html

:sl: Brothers and Sisters, I would definitely pick Surah Al-Kahf #1-10 and #23-24

But sometimes I hear some sobs from Abdullah Basfar in Surah Hud, I don't know what ayat it was but he was reciting in tears

It's tough to play favorites for me in things like this. I'm more of a seasonal favorites type of person.

I like the back to back listening/reading of Suras Al-'Isra' and Al-Kahf.

Also Surat As-Saf has had its season (or 2).

And Surat Al Mulk. That seems to be in every "season".

There are about 110 other ones i could mention, too.

Manshallah :D

My favorite surah is سورة الأعلى
My favorite ayaat is in surat ahzab:

Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.

Thank you for each post. I've read them all save Taha and Tawbah, which I'll read before bed seeing as they're much much longer than the Surahs at the end of the Qur'an. 8)
