Palestine Forever Foundation will be launching a marketing campaign all across Canada to gather support for Viva Palestina, an international organization that is spearheading the aid convoy to Gaza. We will be contacting various groups in Canada in order for us to better communicate to Canadian’s the plight of the Palestinian people. In order to help the people of Palestine, we will be conducting fund-raisers, donation drives, and various other strategies to supply much needed aid to the civilian population of Gaza. This aid convoy will leave the United Kingdom in mid September and is being organized by Viva Palestina founder George Galloway. Mr Galloway has been a member of the British Parliament from 1987 to 2010. He is also an author and a broadcaster.

In order for us to succeed, the people of Gaza must receive this much needed aid in the form of Medicine, Nutritional food and Construction materials, etc. The people of Gaza have lacked these supplies since Israel besieged Gaza. The siege began over 3 years ago when Israel attacked Gaza to remove a democratically elected government that they viewed as “unfavorable”.

So, what is the plan?

Donations collected in Canada will be used to purchase supplies in Britain. Doing this allows more to be spent directly on aid and less on shipping costs. From Britain the supplies will be trucked across Europe and the Middle East and on to Gaza. We intend to coordinate with Viva Palestina to purchase those goods which are in shortest supply. Our volunteers will join the convoy and ensure the delivery of the aid to the people of Gaza. All vehicles that we send will be equipped with GPS locators. These systems will allow all who are interested to track the progress of the convoy. We will also update latest information on the convoy through social media networks such as facebook, twitter and various other platforms. We will also record the entire trip with state of the art equipment donated to the group by its organizers. Most of these non-essential services will be funded privately by the group so all of the donations can be used towards aid.

According to the few details released thus far, the convoy will leave Britain in mid September and will head to Turkey by driving through Europe. Turkey will be the mid point before the convoy heads in to the Middle East. Once the land convoy reaches Egypt, it will make its way to Gaza through the Rafah border crossing. This convoy will be organized by Viva Palestina and various other organizations from around the world.

What goods will we be taking to Gaza?

* Children’s food & sanitary supplies
* Ambulances
* Medical Stretchers
* Wheel-chairs
* Medicine
* Nutritional Foods
* Prefab Housing
* Parts for water and sanitation systems
* Seasonal Clothing
* Mechanical Parts for local emergency vehicles
* Parts & Engines for Fishing Boats
* Educational Materials (Pens, pencils, papers)

This list covers only a fraction of the desperately needed items which have been banned by Israel and enforced with the help of Egypt. These two governments have contributed to a siege that has crippled the economy in Gaza, led to the deaths of thousands of innocent people and deprived those who survived of emergency supplies, food and education. In accordance with our policies, all aid will be delivered to the civilian population of Gaza. We do not specifically support any political, military or religious organizations. We only support the people of Palestine and their struggle for human rights.

We ask for your support in stopping this siege. You may donate or volunteer by contacting us by email or phone. Please email us at info[at]palestineforever[dot]org or fill out the contact us form, if you have any questions or concerns. Thank You

There's one setting off sometime after Eid inshaAllah. I know a few people from Birmingham who have put their names down for it.
