Islamic View On Attars, Perfume oils, Oil Fragrances, Musk oils
Imaam al-Bukhari (may Allaah have mercy on his soul) bring a chapter in his sahih “What kind of scent is recommended” and in there he bring the hadeeth that is narrated by ‘Aishah, that she said:
“I used to perfume the prophet (peace be upon him) before his assuming the state of Ihram, with the best scent available.”

2. Did you know that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to apply attar, perfume oil, oil fragrances, musk oil to his head and beard?

“If a man takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself thoroughly, uses oil and perfume which is available in the house, sets forth for the Masjid, does not (forcibly) sit between two persons, offers the prayer that is prescribed for him and listens to the Imaam silently, his sins between this Friday and the previous Friday will be forgiven.”

Imaam al-Bukhari brings a chapter in his Sahih “Those who never refused Attar” and in there he bring the hadeeth narrated by Thumama bin ‘Abdullah that he said:
“Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) never used to refuse Taib (attar, perfume oils, oil fragrances, musk oils) and used to say that the Prophet (peace be upon him) never used to refuse (a gift of) scent.”

“The Taib (attars, perfume oils, oil fragrances, musk oils) for men is that whose scent is apparent while its colour is hidden (dark), and the attar for women is that whose colour is apparent, while its scent is hidden.”
