Is Islam “the same religion” as the Bible?

"The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah -
the which We have sent by inspiration to thee -
and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus:
Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein ..."
(42:13 AYAli).

“But say, “We (Muslims) believe in the Revelation which has come down to us and
in that which came down to you; our Allah and your Allah is One” ”
(29:46 AYAli).

And, the Quran says Allah sent the former prophets and had the Bible written.

I cannot see how this can be true.
I see too many major differences in the doctrines, and in God Himself.
