I've been having great anxiety about dying a hypocrite I cant get the thought out of my head.
I always try to be a positive person and look on the bright side of things but recently I just cant shake this feeling of worry and sadness away because I do not want to die a hypocrite and I feel that when I die and meet Allah (swt) he will be angry with me and I feel that I have not gained Allah's (swt) Love. I dont know why I feel this but I do.... I feel like I do not deserve His love or His paradise.

did you know...

Umar ibn al Khhattab felt the SAME WAY? when Rasulullah, Salla Allahu Alayhe wa Salaam led Janaazah for the head of the hypocrites in Medina [AFTER Umar strongly advised against it], releation came down that he was NOT to lead prayer on the death of ANY of the hypocrites ever again. Jibreel, Alayhe Salaam, gave him a list of those hypocrites. Rasulullah gave the list to one of the sahabah.

Umar, who was one of the ones given glad tidings, spent the rest of his days wanting to know if HIS name was on the list!

:sl: Sister, this is nothing but modesty and being humble. Realising your imperfections (which everyone in this world has). It is a blessing of Allah that you don't see yourself as being 'good'. That kind of attitude is deception from the shaytan, it makes you blind to your flaws.

What you feel now is good in keeping you asking for forgiveness and seeking the mercy of Allah. At the end of the day, it is only the mercy of Allah by which we will be granted protection from the fire of hell and admitted into jannah. Nobody can claim that their deeds in and of themselves are perfect.

Allaah(swt) knows the failings and short comings we all have. Keep in mind none of us will be condemned because we are humans and as such we are not perfect. I doubt if any of us can ever meet the expectations we have set for ourselves. It is good to try for the stars but always remember none of us will ever even reach the clouds. We are human and will fail often in spite of our intentions. We will never be as good as we think we should be. Use that feeling wisely and see it as a goal, but do not despair if you feel you failed. There is no failure unless we stop trying and loose our intention to be the best Muslim possible.

A hypocrite often is the one who feels perfect and that he she has already accomplished all that is needed to be guaranteed Jannah. I doubt if any hypocrite has fear of hellfire or failure, their hearts are hardened into thinking they are perfect and that makes them exempt from all rules or having any need to try harder.

Asalaamu Alaikum, My dear sister it is a good thing to feel like you are a sinner and that shows you have a humble heart and that you have no arrogance or pride which are diseases in the heart. But do not go extreme in your feelings as this is clearly waswas and shaythan taking advantage of that fact that you are humble in feeling like you are a sinner as oppose to feeling like you are a pious person.

Therefore know that this is waswas and disregard your enemy who only wants to confuse and mess your head up so that he can slowly but gradually make you go away from Allah and do less and less good deeds until you eventually stop. Shaythan does things gradually and the first stage is to make you feel like a hypocrite so that you stop doing good actions altogether. Therefore disregard your enemy and reject his evil and deception. Seek refuge in Allah from his whisperings and be humble but balance it out and do not take it to the extreme.

Continue to strive to be closer to Allah and ask of him to help you be strong against the whispers of shaythan. Ask of him to help and guide you and to make you a firm and strong believer.
