Notice: I've just become aware of the fact that members are restricted from posting on these premises. If you have an input that might serve beneficial, feel free to Private Message me.

Jazakumullahu Khair to all the contributors, including:

AabiruSabeel

So my friend needs some clarification and refutations. He's been having trouble with his Shia friend.

And this isn't like the time I said it was my friend, but it was actually me, lol. It really is my friend in need of this help. I don't know why he came to me. :P I guess my beard makes me look like a Mullah Hullah. Anyhoozle, here it goes:

So he needs refutation on:

- For example, after the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam had passed on, Fatima Radiallahu Anha wanted the land but because there is no inheritance involved, Abu Bakr Radiallahu anhu had to refuse her the land or something. Therefore, the Shias use that as basis against Abu Bakr Radiallahu Anhu. Can someone provide some refutation on this or clarification?

- Fatwa Mutah: Something about temporary marriage.

- War of Karbalah?

- 12 Imams?

These are just points I'm just passing on. Some references etc on these would really help him out. I'll try to get him on the forum so he can ask these questions on his one. x]

It is already explained in the link you posted in second post. http://www.ahlelbayt.com/articles/sahabah/fadak1
It comes in a Hadith:
“We do not leave inheritance. What we leave behind is charity.” (Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Jihad was-Siyar, no. 49)

Then how can anyone expect Abu Bakr RadhiyAllahu 'Anh to go against this Hadith, and not spend that land in Sadaqah?

- Fatwa Mutah: Something about temporary marriage.

- War of Karbalah?

- 12 Imams?
Mutah was abrogated.
Read The Unlawfulness of Mutah.

What about Karbala?

And 12 Imams? http://www.ahlelbayt.com/articles/rebuttals/12-caliphs

I got quite a few private messages as well. For compilations' sake, I'll copy/paste them below. Jazakumullahu Khair for Mila on the first two quotes and Abdul Waheed on the last one.

I have seen much of their arguments, but contrary to popular belief; their arguments are based less on hatred of sahabah, and more along the lines of love for the ahlul-bayt. That's why if you show them that hadith about no inheritance; they already consider it weak. The reason is that they consider this a matter between Abu Bakr (ra) and Fatima (ra), as their next question maybe "why then did Abu Bakr give Ayesha a share of the inheritance, if he refused it to Fatima?"

The matter of inheritance isn't one anyone is likely to agree upon, due to many factors.

The matter of mut'ah however is clear; it was abrogated and so its no loner valid. Why shias still fail to realise this; we may not understand what has confused them, but we can try to help them on this topic. The same applies to Imams, 'ashurah and several other aspects of shiism.

Don't bother with refutations; just give the clear message and leave the rest to Allah. Only Allah can guide people; we can only pass on a message, which we ourselves have received and been taught over the past fifteen centuries. The message is perfect, but we are not. This is why we have to be extra careful to put less of our own emotional efforts and more efforts of the deen itself. The Prophet :saws1: was sent as the only perfect example, along with the guidance of the only perfect way of life. As long as we understand and implement this practically, and keep trust in Allah, :inshallah everything will be fine.

Brother Rashad, I took can't post in that thread.

Regarding Mutah:
there is this verse about marriage in the Quran that states that it should be done seeking good and not fornication or something, but i don't remember what exactly the verse says. I'll have to find it which will take a while. Insha-Allah, when I do, i'll send it.

I think that verse is a good refutation to the mutah law because mutah seems like fornication since it's temporary. the marriage contract doesn't change the status of the relationship.
