** mods if this is better suited somewhere else please feel free to move **

I just found this site on You Tube.... and the way its done it walks you through the first surah.... it has the words done in english letters but in arabic.... and it breaks everything up and while it wasn't perfect its gonna take some work... i got through it two or three times. Not to the point that i'd consider acceptable nut thats not even the point. I id it... I was so worried i was seeing all these videos where it was in arabic w/ english subtitles ... but this really made my evening and i had to share.. my problem wasn't so much the pronunciation but the timing i want to have it memorized correctly before next weekend.
I"m so excited.

Salaam

i learned from this sight, i downloaded it and burned it to cd so i could listen to it in the car:

http://transliteration.org/quran/

just go to the upper left hand corner and choose a translation in English, such as Noble:

http://transliteration.org/quran/Web...ble/Fram2E.htm

the choose al-Fatihah:

http://transliteration.org/quran/Web...ble/Fram2E.htm

although for some reason, i'm getting no sound?:exhausted

hmm, if you go here:

http://www.kalamullah.com/index.html

then scroll down to Recitation of the Noble Quran (Arabic-English) and click the download, you get verse by verse Arabic and English:

http://www.kalamullah.com/noble-quran.html

i have this as well:

if i can find a mp3 file shrinker, i can send you al-Fatihah, In Sha'a Allah. the reciter, Haroon Baqai is excellent

Salaam brother Yusef and thanks.. i found this really nice set of Youtube videos... it goes through all the prayers and how to pronouce them... first it says it... then it breaks each syllable down then it builds the word back up, the part of the phrase and then you start repeating it from the beginning... i couldn't do it from memory yet but it was such a sense of fullfilment to get through it last night
Serena

edited to add...
first i know.. many may not care one bit about this... but i've gotten so w/ the video i can do almost all of the prayer... i couldn't do it w/o the words showing up... but i can get all the way through the pronunciation...
