Amazing pics! It must be quite something to be there!

MustafaMc, who used to be a member here, has gone on Hajj this year. I'm hoping to hear how it went.

if you guys are referring to the two little feet in the 1st pic. then it looks like the two smaller hotel towers built alongside the main clock tower. the picture appears to be taken from near teh top of teh clock tower.

but the pics are stunning subhanAllah. i wonder if they finished the extension?

The religion of Islam has been more and more hypnotic to me of late, attracts me in such a way as I can find no pastime in worldly lures. The recitations from the Quran the religious rites I appreciate more than ever.. they are so other worldly.. imagine walking there to Jannah hand in hand with all those Muslims, those preceding us and those to come..

sob7 Allah.. Mecca looks like a nucleus and we are in its orbits all over the globe praising the creator, the lord of that house..

When you look at all those muslims lined up in makkah, you just think if there were that many muslims around at the time of the prophet, he would have conquered the world ages ago, he would have fended off any kind of invasion in muslim lands

Wow, amazing pictures. I like the above picture taken on Jabl-e-noor of the city of Makkah. The modern developments and lighting somehow disguises the desert land at night.. but by day the desert feels so real, you can almost comprehend that your in a place witnessed by the prophets in their daily lives and really appreciate the simplicity. I loved the mountains of Makkah <3 so breathtaking being up there. I miss tawaf, such a beautiful form of worship.

Those are construction cranes working on the extension of the Haram.

Regarding the picture of the Suadis on the train, the caption from the website is: "Saudi Arabian men ride on the newly-opened Holy Sites metro light rail in Mecca on November 2, 2010. The Chinese-built monorail project, will link Mecca with the holy sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, and will operate for the first time during the Hajj this month at 35 percent capacity to ferry Saudi nationals who will take part in the upcoming annual Muslim pilgrimage."

This is so untrue! The rest of the world who have not been on the trains think only Saudis were given the facility. Actucally, all Saudi RESIDENTS were given the faciltiy as well, those coming on Hajj from other GCC countries. I was on the train, and I'm no Saudi.

Head count or wealth...did not matter in the wars which happened during the time of prophet/rashidun cailphs.... Allah granted victory to us by His Mercy.
