If Our Prophet (SAS) had made dua to ALLAH to turn a mountain in to Gold... ALLAH might have accepted his dua and done it. But Our Prophet (SAS) did not beleive that this worldly wealth would give Peace inturn he feared that it would make him forget his duties to ALLAH.

I beleive Peace of Mind is the most costliest thing in this world which you cannot buy anywhere.... but can be attained by sacrificing worldly desires/interest/wealth...and being faithful to ALLAH.

So what have you sacrificed in this world to get Peace? Share it here.

Eg: Some prefer a job which is more peaceful though they offer less salary.
Some like to stay in village..considering it as more peaceful...though they have the capab to shift to city.

Why do we sacrifice anything when Allah swt is there to give.He is the lord of everything and he can do any thing.Do not put your self in any test unless he SWT himself put you in a test.Ask what ever you fell like and what is good for you.According to Quran the best doaa is "Oh lord, give us the best of this Dunya and the best of here after and save us from hell fire".
Its not hard for Allah swt to bless us with both Dunya and Aakhirah so dont think about being good by sacrificing your desires. He swt is there to give,no worry, feel free :D

all praise is due to allah, peace and blessings be upon the prophet.

i pray that allah grants sabber to those in need of it in there worldly affairs.

i have made so many silly mistakes that have cost me in this world, i would rather think of them as punishment than sacrifices as i know that i have made some really silly mistakes in my life.

lol this was really funny,
i started working at a place on a six month temporary contract, towards the end of six months another position became available in the office and i applied for it and got the job.
i waited on actually joining the team until i could talk to my boss who usually did his work out of office.
so i finally got to speak to him and i said that i was greatfull that he had given me the opportunity in the first place and would be prepared to work for him and learn under him if he wanted.
he said it was up to me and to think about it.
..a few weeks later and the company did not give me a permanent contract and i was escorted from the building...no fuss was made btw.

i can only conclude that someone as socially inept as me should never have even been given the job in the first place, things have been much the same ever since.

I sacrificed my indentity for a number of years for the sake of peace. My grandmother was a very strict fundamentaist christian and had she known I was an atheist it would have caused a lot of friction and I feared it may tear my family apart. So I pretended to be Christian until she passed away. That's actually how I got into online religious chat rooms. It was the only place I could be myself. Not sure if that's the kind of sacrifice you were talking about, but there you have it :)

Oh, I alsoI have a cousin who is homosexual (though ironically he is religious) and kept in the closet in order to keep the peace with the same grandmother and with his father. She passed away and he eventually moved away from home and started his own life and became open about his sexual orientation. It caused a rift between himself and his father that last I checked was still a major barrier to their father/son relationship.
